Night and day when playing with Charley. It’s so clear how much better he reacts to chasing through balls. Really puzzling why only Charley seems to do this.

Alcarez seems to be able to read him and his runs.
He needs those through balls to run on to and it puts the defence the back foot.

What’s he proved me wrong? , he’s got like 12 goals in 67 games in over 2yrs, in 50yrs he’s in the top 10 of worst strikers ive ever seen. Little purple patch last season, apart from that he’s been horrendous.

Palace missing 2 sitters won us the game, Alcaraz and Beto. But mainly Alcaraz got us a foot hold in the game, but on another day we’re 2-0/3-0 Down after 65

Dwight would make those too but he has had such an awful start to the season that it will be very difficult for him to get back into the team. Charly drives with the ball and pushes the issue which is exactly what we need. No nonsense footballer which is my kind of player

He’s started 5 out of 7 and had 85 minutes on the 2 he didn’t Start. And he’s been useless in most of them.
Not sure anything changes.
If we want Alcaraz in the side, maybe we try him or ndiaye through the middle

Both he and Charly just ran hard. Harder than anyone first half. He caused a few rushed clearances, made some runs behind putting doubt in their mind for the first time in the game (something even a “not ready” striker is capable of doing). Charly having that bit of quality as well as the effort turned the match.

Beto is not very good at football. But if we get that swashbuckling Beto every week, we will do fine until we can get someone better. If anything, his 2nd half should show Barry how much impact you can make by doing nothing other than running from A to B much much faster, and with aggressive intent. And should show him how the crowd will always get behind someone giving everything even if they have no physical coordination from the knees down.

Beto’s header typified him. He went after it full-bore and would have cleared out anyone in the way from either team. But hasn’t the quality to direct it. But if he hadn’t gone for it, it finishes 1-1.

Beto has many flaws. However chasing a game like today he is considerably a better option. Go direct, get defences on the turn and he will cause issues.

If it's balls to feet and link up play he can't really do that but that wasn't what was required at 0-1 and Barry isn't able to do that yet.

Totally unfair that, it’s a valid point. Let’s be clear here, he didn’t play well today, he was just better than Barry. Some of his touches sete horrific and one misplaced pass on the halfway line could’ve cost us the game. Hes got good points but he’s very very limited and limiting. Not accepting that makes you look like a clueless idiot to be honest.
