Well it wasn't an easy chance and I've seen Haaland miss easier chances so I'm not demanding anything from a striker who is never going to score everytime. I agree we need better than Beto but to criticise him for that header is harsh imo. Plus we can't afford elite strikers so there's no point holding Beto to that standard and demanding it off him

It was a fairly easy chance and we've seen Haaland miss those, indeed. We've also seen him score 9 in a game cuz he's an elite footballer.

Betos just not a great footballer - can't really fault trying but with no actual quality, he's just another Stracqalursi that cost us actual money. Hopefully he goes on some magical confidence-boosted run of goals again but starting the season with him and an unproven player as a frontline has proven to be a bad choice for now.

Apart from disagreeing about the easiness of the chance I agree wholeheartedly with the rest of your post. Undeniably Beto helped us turn the game around so I'll forgive him for not being perfect with the header as we scored from the ensuing chaos anyway

We did but I'd prefer a scorer than a chaos goblin with no football skills - we had one with Doucoure - we need 11 footballers on the pitch.

Absolutely loads of players head that over the bar or at any of the 3 opposition players. He got up and attacked it very well (was good movement actually).
Just not something I’d be singling him out for, was just glad it was him and not Barry.

If Beto got 30 goals a season I wound t be that bothered if he missed the odd free header 5 yards out, but he’s on course This season to get 6 goals

Oh nah there are, and he did get up for it fantastically (it's in the screenshot as well like), and movement is one of the things he more often gets right than not, but there's also an above them camera where you can see he still fired it straight at the keeper. If this was Barry or DCL (last year obvs) he'd be chewed out. In fact, Barry was getting chewed out for the 1st half miss (or misjudging of the ball I guess), which is also a bit fair.

Alternatively, a ricochet got us the points due to that miss, if they'd cleared it properly we'd be "winning a point" despite creating things.

We still need someone who's way more clinical than this. Last few years we had strikers with no service, now we have service but no strikers.

Edit: we still played nothing in the first half imo, which was a bigger issue. We can't ride our luck by being good only in the 2nd half.

I thought it was an awful miss at the time. Having seen the replays I'm more forgiving because of Richards in front of him. He obviously decided to avoid his corner at all costs in case he got a block and went hard and low back across him which to be fair is textbook and would normally go in under the keeper but it just hit his foot unfortunately.

Yes, he should have scored but understand his decision to not get too cute and head it beyond Richards as he may have directed the header wide or over as a result.

Dunno why im getting involved in this as it must be a slow day on GOT lol. But the keeper wasnt standing still. He was moving across the goal so you could say Beto was trying to head it back the way henderson was coming over to. There's two defenders and a keeper there in front of him. People going on like it was an open goal lol.
I thought he did the right thing in heading it down with power. Not the first time keepers have saved them with their feet. Wont be the last. I'd have been more pissed if he'd got under it and ballooned it.

A still frame doesn't give clarity to the pace of the ball etc, he had to generate power which means placement is more difficult. I agree he's not good enough going forward but that header isn't the reason for that judgement
