2024/25 Beto

It's a strange one with beto for me you can see he clearly lacks composure amongst other things you expect from your striker but his record since Moyes gave him his chance has shown him to be far better than those that have come before him. Just think if he'd actually stuck away all the other chances he's had as well. His goal scoring record screams he needs to be kept and another perhaps more competent striker brought in, but if a decent offer came in you'd sell him also. Not really said much there because i can't make up my mind on the guy although i do love a player that puts the level of effort he puts in.

The way I look at it - he's big, strong, quick, aggressive and tries his best. There's a lot to be said for that, but as an actual footballer he's up there with the worst I've seen here. He *can* score goals, but it's like playing with 10 men most of the time when you're in possession and you can't carry a player like that in modern football. I've rarely ever seen someone so poor at holding onto the ball.

This little purple patch of goals has been a blessing - I think we could potentially get our money back on the lad and 12 months ago that looked like a ridiculous notion.

Sorry, I like him as a fella and admire his graft, but we have to do better than him.

If an offer comes in for more than we bought him, I'd sell.

If not, there are worse options to have on the bench and as a backup striker.
I’ve said the same and you get the you have an agenda and you hate him, which I don’t I’m just looking at the bigger picture. I’ve also said I’d sell garner, McNeil, Patterson and Myko. If we want to be a team like Villa and Newcastle in the next 2 yrs and start to get into Europe and fight for a champions league spot, then all them players above aren’t good enough.

I knkw we can’t sell all them 5 this summer With everything else we need to do, but we could make 50/60 profit on them which goes a long way in the transfer market

Wouldn’t say it’s a hot spell it’s a decent season for a striker
When it's done consistently even when (this season especially) you have little to no creativity from midfield it would point to that for 20 million the player is good value and worth keeping.
