Trust me, as an insider, the NHS is in poorly managed decline. Really loosing faith. But I didn't want to work private hence never went to Oz.
The Everton bit.. Yeah I missed going the match. Getting up at 5am was hard.
The travelling bit.. Yeah Europe is amazing. The architecture, the culture and history. Hard to get anything like that in the world in one continent.
And kiwi birds are.. well.. you won't want to go back to one (soz if you're married I'm sure she's ace)
Good luck with it!

A pretty fair post. For me the NHS has been grossly mismanaged and not just by the present Gov't but the ones before. First and foremost for me in any Gov't polcy should be Education and NHS.

I had a double inguinal hernia operation ten days ago ( day surgery), the staff in the theatre and ward were excellent cannot praise them enough.

Even if the NHS is becoming a hole we won't catch on for a bit so it's some nice fluff for the CV.
Haven't had anything serious bird wise for about half a year now and can tell you big fan of the British gals. The rest of the continent isn't so shabby either.
Travelling Europe's always been something I wanted to do. Studied Classics in school at scholarship level and so had a massive passion and interest for it. If there were jobs I'd have studied that instead.

You'll have a brilliant time then, especially if it's not your life plan to stay in the UK. Probably being exposed to the management side of things in the UK will probably secure you a great job back home, although I don't know your occupational background. I did some audit and clinical governance crap that I hate, when working in NZ and the Bosses were really happy- as no one at that time regularly audited certain clinical outcomes at that time. Still, I friggin hate paperwork.

Aye, well I still have to thrash out a fair few essays over the next few weeks then all that's left is 24 weeks practicum next year and I'm qualified.
Sick of living the poor student life.

There's an interesting mix in Cambridge right enough, but some pretty substantial negatives - it's eye-wateringly expensive. Not just pricey in the way a lot of nice cities are, but off the charts due to it being in easy train commuter distance of the City. It's small and claustrophobic - completely dominated by the university (which is beautiful, tbf). Population oscillates wildly as 30000 entitled Teds come and go every 8 weeks. Surrounding countryside is dismal. Plus the trip to Goodison treats you to the slowest train journey in the UK - 4 hours+ to go less than 200 miles.

If you had to live there you'd make it work and it could be great. As a choice of destination, though, don't think many people would consider it.

Fantastic cultural diversity
Beautiful City
Upbeat friendly atmosphere
Stunning women

I loved it.
