Best option for a Goodison pilgrimage?

you're suggesting he should fly over to the UK in order to buy cheap airplane tickets for a return flight to Oz then fly back to OZ in order to catch the flight to the UK that he has just flown to the UK to buy the tickets for ??? FFS, that's insane !!!

besides which, he's only in Perth

you can get a national express from there
And you get a jolly hostess serving crisps and tea.

When you go to Singapore, try and talk to some of the Everton players or coaching staff, explain your situation
about coming to the Chelsea game and they might sort you out, a bit cheeky , but if you don't ask you don't get, and they
won't hit you, they will only say yes or no. Good luck anyway, I hope you make it with decent seats,

Man, I just pissed myself laughing. The Lisbon, without the missus eh? Done. :-)

Thanks for the hot tips everyone.

Final one - quick story: a few years ago the boys toured Australia (pre-season again). Me and another Perth-based Blue arranged to be Sydney and Melbourne for "urgent work purposes". One of my bosses at the time is Peter Reid's cousin so he found out for us where the boys were staying and then we booked in at the same hotels. Bumped into loads of them at the hotel bar. It was some quality stalking. :-) Highlights were watching Timmy Cahill have some sort of domestic with some chick for 30 mins in the hotel lobby. And being slightly terrified of the look of rage on Moyes' face, a good couple hours after a mediocre (pre-season!) showing. :-)

Legends. Thanks everyone. I've dropped an email to the club and will also sign up when the FOREVERTON memberships go on sale again. Fingers crossed.

Between now and then, I'll be taking my boy to see the lads play in Singapore in July. I know it's lame to be excited about preseason but excited I am.

Thanks again!

Keep us posted if you get a reply, i am sure one way or the other you will get sorted. I would watch the fixtures thou, are there any other big games that weekend?

Well, we're clearly the biggest game of the weekend. But some second-tier mob from Anfield are also playing some arrogant red-wearing d!cks from Manchester. :-) Not much else. At least one of those games will move to Sunday. I'd better plan on an extended stay. Good tip.

Hi folks,

I'm an Australian-based Evertonian. I turn 40 this September and for my 40th, I want to fly from Perth (Australia) to Liverpool to see Everton at Goodison.

The only game for which I can make dates work is 12 September - home versus Chelsea. I'm a bit concerned that a high profile game like that will sell out before I get within sniffing distance of a ticket. Not terribly keen on spending all that money to get there, only to find I can't get two tickets (wife too) for love or money.

Am hoping you could help me out with some advice:
1. How likely that the Chelsea game sells out without going to general admission sales?
2. Best option to guarantee myself two seats at a reasonable(-ish) price? -- i.e. Can afford to splash out a bit for the special occasion, but don't have hundreds and hundreds of pounds just laying around.

Advice greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

Book a Thomas Cook ticket / hotel ( 1 or 2 nights in the city centre ) good for a night out after the game.
I came from Brisbane, did the same, stayed at the Hotel Indigo. Handy for the train bus thing (Moorfielfds) to and from the ground and more bars than you can shake a stick at...good full English breakfast, essentially all you can eat, for the morning after the night before.

The game can get moved and they will move your booking to suit, download your ticket bar code thingy, pick up at Bullens rd on match day.
Do the ground tour on Friday 11.00am or 1.00pm.
sorted
costs a bit with the hotel, but you got to stay somewhere and you don't get over that often... that's how I justified it to Mrs Degsy, she even said how much she enjoyed the whole ground tour match day thing.
once it's done, no ticket worries=sorted.
