Neiler

Player Valuation: £100m
Seems their has been a bit of a debate lately on our best back four. From what i have read it seems to be either:

A) Neville, Yobo, Lescott, Baines.

or

B) Neville, Yobo, Jags, Lescott.

Which would you pick for the remainder and the start of next season?

I think that Hibbert, Jags, Lescott, Baines is our best back four. Of course Hibbert at right back means Neville in midfield though :(

Still cant get that Arsenal home game out of my head, Yobo classier by far for me, credit though he has proved me wrong!(y)

Ye your right mate, yobo is the classier of the two. But i think you can relie on jags more than yobo. I dont see yobo getting better than he is now, but i fancy jags to be a top CB in the end!!

Jags has saved us a few goals with last ditch tackles, cant remember yobo doing that much.

I like jags as a no nonsense centre half but he seems to want to bypass the midfield to often with long balls, don't know if thats because theres no movement in front of him or not ? but there surely must be easier passes for him to make instead of hoofing it long :dodgy:

I think we are underestimateing Baines a lot, i am anticipating him being one of our best players for years to come, the sounds form Moyes are that he does to.

I think in the future we will play with to moroding full backs with pace to give the team width with Pienarr and Arteta as essentialy central midfeild playmakers who have been converted to wingers. Baines will be one of these. (y)

Thats because they have different styles. Jagielka is a master of the last ditch tackle. Similar to the likes of Carragher, Stubbs etc. He's an old fashioned centre half so to speak. People could argue that his lack of positioning gets him into those situations where he needs to make last ditch tackles.

Yobo is alot better in the air and has a much better leap. In fact he's alot better in the air than both Lescott and Jagielka. He's our only dominant centre half in my opinion and that is needed. We seen when Lescott and Jags where up against Ashton at West ham they just couldn't handle him. Every long ball was being won by the west ham man and he ended up scoring an excellent header.

I couldn't see him dominating if Yobo had have been playing. In fact Yobo marked him in the two games earlier this season and won header after header.

What mistakes has Yobo made this season. There aren't many I can think of to be honest and I'd actually say he's made less than both Lescott and Jagielka. Yes he does have a tendency to go on mazy runs out of defense and yes sometimes he looks like a tit but I respect him for it. Its alot better than the long punt upfield.

Definatly Neville - Yobo - Jagielka - Lescott

But i wanna see: Jagielka - Yobo - Lescott - Baines

i would like to see jags - yobo- lescott- baines

dont see why not there the best defenders we have so why not try it.
i think we did once at derby but then that was it after that.

i dont' think jags has the ability to be a wide back, keep him in the centre so he can make those last ditch tackles he shines at.

maybe, but i think neville and hibbert
who have been playing there have not proved anything at all. and neither are great at going forward
