my best:

1. Cahill
2. Lescott
3. Howard
4. Martyn
5. Pienaar (a bit presumptuous but i don't think he'll dissapoint)

Worst:

1. Koldrup
2. VDM
3. Da Silva
4. Wright (a bit harsh i still think he helped us out at times)
hmm can't think of a 5 that i thought was really bad

i still don't understand why people are so hard on BT and Davies. If we'd won the second leg of the Villarreal game, making Beattie's strike the reason for our advancement, i doubt people would be that harsh on him. He contributed to the team, i don't think you can say thats a bad signing, as far as I'm concerned we got our money's worth out of it. Davies was poor for a season, but for the half season before he was sold, we played him out of position almost the whole time and he still performed well.

with those 2 players we barely lost any money, and still got 14 goals out of it.

His last season with us : 35 appearances & 2 goals - both penalties.

19 of those were appearances were substitutions in the late stages of the game, and obviously not earning starting football was frustrating him a little bit and probably hurt his scoring record

look i'm not saying he was a standout player, i jus don't think it was a terrible signing as despite not having the best scoring record, he was still valuable to have during one of our worst seasons in recent memory, who knows without him we might have been battling relegation.

I don't rate Neville, but surley at defenders first job is to clear any danger? I don't see Ferdinand and Vidic waltzing the ball out of the penalty area.

Jag is always reactive and very little pro-active. Meaning because he has either messed up or in the wrong position in the 1st place he has to react all the time which you can only get away with for so long.
Lescott on the other hand is pro-active, meaning he gets into the postion before hand and makes the job look easier

If he keeps getting these last ditch tackles in then who can moan? Jamie Carragher's been doing it for years as has John Terry.

Yobo's pace gets him out of trouble when he makes a mistake, Jags's ability to tackle and time a tackle gets him out of trouble. What's the difference.
