Hasnt done the sh**e any harm...if you have a decent DOF always looking for the next top hidden gems, As long as they are replaced with the same or better each season or two,
When the Football style is set in concrete...Footballers can be fluid...perfect business model.

Like a Hydra. Cut off one head and 2 more appear. That is the correct way of running a club. Have faith the DOF can grow the club, rather than the last few years of mostly expensive busts.

Let’s say (which I think is more than likely), this kid will be our best player after he signs. Who comes out of the team to make room for him?
I’b be tempted to drop Schneiderlin and put Sigurdsson alongside Gana with Rich, Bernie and Theo behind Tosun. That, however, would be a 4-2-3-1 and I know Silva wants to play a 4-3-3. So do we put Bernard alongside Sigurdson and Gana in the deeper 3 or do we accept that Tosun, Rich, Theo and Bernie are unlikely to play together?

How will he fit at Everton?
The thing that stands out at Everton is their new coach, Marco Silva.

Bernard enjoyed a good relationship with Fonseca at Shakhtar and his new manager is cut from the same cloth. The ability to communicate in Portuguese will be beneficial once again. Tactically, Silva will look to utilise him in the same way, likely playing the same 4-2-3-1 that he used at Hull and Watford. Bernard excelled in that role at his last club.

Occupying the left wing spot, it’s likely Theo Walcott will play on the other wing while big-money signing Richarlison will be in-between as the number ten with Gylfi Sigurdsson, or rotating with Bernard on the left. Cenk Tosun will be the centre forward ahead of them. With Bernard’s arrival imminent, the rumours of Yannick Bolasie’s departure make sense.

This front four would be a multi-faceted attack that utilises width and looks to play crosses to the considerable frame of Tosun, but can also cut inside, play and create through central areas.

There is perhaps a question of physicality, with Walcott, Richarlison, and Bernard all fairly diminutive. This would ask a lot of the sitting two behind them, but Idrissa Gueye in particular has the ability to rise to the challenge.

The other question would be of last summer’s record signing Sigurdsson and the new role for him — would he be able to play deeper? If not, it suggests that Bernard might simply be a squad player. But as a free agent and with a pick of top European teams to choose from, going to Everton suggests he’s been promised plenty of game time.

Have I got this right: £10M signing on fee and £120K pw wages?

His agent is a genius if that's anything like correct.

No it's not. However it might be an opportunity for us to progress this season and become a more attractive proposition for the future.

Of course it is; in fact I'd much rather have someone who is determined to improve himself and put himself into that bracket of player rather than someone who thinks he's made it by being here.

That sounds like a sexy lineup no matter the formation so thumbs up from me

Against weaker opposition you play the 4-3-2-1/4-3-3 you just listed with Siggy moving back to partner Gana. Against tougher teams, or evenly matched teams on the road, you drop Tosun and move Richy to CF, with Bernie and Theo on the wings and Gylfi playing a deeper #10. That front three would be lethal on the counter. Tosun is far more effective when we have possession and can pinpoint him balls to smash home in the box, not as much on the counter. Although he’ll still be a weapon off he bench when we need goals.

I’d want to get out of Shakhtar if my home stadium was shelled and I had to leave my home and live nearly one thousand kilometres away too tbh.

Well, if you did get something right I think that would be a first. So im not counting on it...
