only bale, walker and lennon i'd say made their career there. and they were all bought after impressing at their respective clubs + they got lucky on walker. everyone already knew about berbatov and modric, you can't honestly say they've made dembele's career after one half of football?

I had a lot of time for Bentley, he opted out of Arsenal to get game time and made a name for himself at Blackburn and got international recognition from those performances. The lure of London is one thing, but there appears to be something about the place - it could be that so many players knock about together (from all clubs) boozing and chasing women that so many seem to go off the rails there. West Ham allegedly had a notorious gambling clique. Arsenal have had issues with 'non french speakers' ( http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...-leaves-Theo-Walcott-lost-in-translation.html ) Obviously the bed hopping that has become an issue with some Chelsea players is something that has gone on in football since forever. Racking my brains to remember issues relating to off pitch London clubs players behaviours.

Certain players have used Spurs as a stepping stone, Berbs and Modric for instance. As for Dembele, he'll flourish with the quality spurs have, they have been pursuing that type player for years - Palacios - Zokora - Parker (age thing).
