It's hard to blame him. He's a centre back. If we had an injury crisis by all means play him at full back but otherwise it's baffling.

Godfrey is the archetypal utility back that fills in when you’ve got a serious injury crisis. Under no circumstances should he be starting games when there are genuine alternatives. Strange hill for dyche to die on.

Dyche is becoming just as stubborn as Martinez, Benitez and Lampard when it comes to certain players. He was the same with Keane earlier in the season.

Reoccurring theme is that the poorest managers are the most stubborn.

The top end managers know when they've got it wrong and will change it asap

You could understand it since Coleman and Young weren't fit and he obviously doesn't rate Patterson at all but he's clearly not going to do the job.

Hope that Coleman visits the fountain of youth during the break and carries us through the end of the season because Godfrey is grim.

Could Patterson really be any worse? Yes, he's quick and can put in a last ditch tackle, but his ability on the ball is woeful. There was one point in the first half where he just sort of let the ball go out of play, which for Sunday league you'd be having to buy penalty pints for. Why is he playing at right back? He can stand-in if both Tarks and Braithwaite are injured (the unholy alliance of Keane and Godfrey... no, I won't think about it), but otherwise I don't understand

A right side of Godfrey and Harrison is nauseating, at best. Godfrey is an athlete, but his technical ability is shocking as shown today by his time on the ball.

Why persist with someone so poor and such a weka link when they'res options.
