Walker has always been passable player on the ball. I mean he's succeeded in team coached by Pep and Poch. He's not Marcelo but the rep that he's all physical and nothing else is undeserved imo.

He can start at QPR I reckon, if he is recovering from Covid no chance he can do 90 minutes in the PL so starting him today wont be wise knowing you need to save a sub for him
for a young player he does ALOT of talking to the media. That tells me as soon as there is serious interest from a bigger club he will be off. That is of course a well travelled route, but there are certain players eg Richi, you can persuade to give you an extra year, I don't think Godfrey will be one of them.

Whether you use your eyes or the numbers he was far and away our best defender last season by a long shot. (his defensive numbers were quite a bit better than the other 3)
I do accept that was under a different manager and there has been stories that Benitez wants another CB so he does need to show what he can do but he is the best we have suited towards this league, CB need the pace these days, they need the strength, and they need to not be afraid to get stuck in - all things Godfrey has in abundance. Just needs to improve his a positioning a bit (would be good if he had a more experienced player next to him rather than Keane and Mina who are both liable to a mistake imo)

He is definitely our best CB however the problem is, he is also probably best back up RB and back up LB. I have the feeling he will be played all over this season until the FB situation is resolved. If Coleman and Digne are fit he should be first choice CB partnered by Mina, Keane or Holgate in that order.

His crossing isn't good enough to be a RB. Hopefully if he can get a settled partnership with preferably Mina he will show he is a CB. His pace will allow us to play a higher line but not too high. If he stays in one position consistently His positioning will get better. In my opinion he is the least clumsy on the ball. I do agree with you that he should be concentrating on Everton first and if he plays well enough for us the opportunity will come to play for England.
