Transfer Rumour Ben Doak

Not arsed who he's signed to currently, I'd be absolutely delighted with this. God only knows how negotiations would go but he looks like the real deal to me. The numbers he's put up in the Championship for a 19 year old are WILD and he's the exact profile we need imo: fast winger who's very good at moving the ball up the pitch and setting up shots for teammates.

Don Hutchinson was quality when he played for us, admittedly in bleak years.
Before that Beardsley, and ablett both good additions. Beardsley in particular was a top class player
Certainly had better value than they had with barmby and that Portuguese fella off us in the late 90s
Don Hutchinson came from WHU to Everton then moved on because he couldn’t agree terms for a new contract, another player who came from Liverpool at the same time as Kevin Sheedy, I think, was Alan Harper who gave Everton valuable service, mostly as a substitute or filling in when players were injured —— he was a very versatile player who helped Everton in a few positions.

I wonder if he signed long-term with them in the expectation that Salah will be going, only for his first team chances in the PL to be significantly reduced for another 2 years.

They will sell as is a few players they want to let go this window. See no reason why they wouldnt sell to us, dont really impact them in the league and most likely low down in the squad.

Did he? Are you thinking of Delap by any chance? He mentioned Delap because he has a release clause. I never heard him mention Doak at all but I may be wrong on that

He's quality. Watched him play for Scotland and he terrified the defenders each and every time. Stamina was a bit of an issue but he's young. Would be for this.

Looks a bit lightweight for the prem.
Think Pat Nevin, John Collins.

A bit predictable in his approach play, can't / doesn't have the strength in his right foot to whip in a first time quality ball from by the touch line.

His pace and skill levels are good but does seem to be playing in a five a side manner
too often and footage of his defensive and positional strengths are missing.

He's no Désiré Nonka-Maho Doué or Bradley Jean-Manuel Essolisam Addo Barcola which is probably why Liverpool will get rid and laugh all the way to the bank and count their transfer kitty Harry Wilson style.
