Must be the silly season and I need a little help with this. Got a neighbour a few doors away in a 2 up 2 down. He's only got a small back yard because he's built an extention. This extention takes up the whole yard except for a 6ft x 3ft space near the gate. Now this isnt the problem I'm just drawing you a picture. Anyway he's got a big Alsation locked in that space that constantly barks through the night. I've had words with this clown but theyve fell on deaf ears and I've even threatened him. Not a good thing to do to a neighbour I know. He lives on his own like I do and leaves the dog out while he's at work so he doesnt have to listen to it. Anyway today is the last straw. Been pissin down all night and I've been kept awake with the howling. I got up at 5 this morning and this poor dog has been howling because its distressed and soaked and lying in its own piss and [Poor language removed]. Other neighbours talk about it but wont go and see him. Thats been left up to me because I think theyre scared of him and am fooked off with it. Now he's gonna be out till about 2 and I'm tempted to break his teeth when he comes in am that mad about it. Surely what he's doing is cruel to the dog. Now I dont like the idea of making phone calls about anyone but I think it might be the only way to help the dog. It's either that or I kick the back gate off and let it go but then theres a danger it'll get run over and I couldnt forgive myself for that. Sorry for soundin off about it just wanna feel am doin the right thing.

alright mate, stressful times.

I know its tempting to have it out with people, but what If i said there was a whole team of people waiting to help you and do all the elbow work. Yes the Old Bill need to be paid for something. Try and play within the rules and you've got more chance of winning.

Take some pics of the dog lying in its own crap and report him. Failing that call your local Korean takeaway....

don't chin him tho....we need you on here, not in HMP.

Who are the authorities mate and what can they do? This cnut doesnt desreve to have a dog or any teeth imo.

These boys will settle the beef...

Sorry but I'd just punch the cnut.

If you've had a few words with him. He obviously thinks your a tit and doesn't give a fook.

Just knock on his door and ask him nicely to come outside. I'd them slap him round a while...

But remember, DONT EVER TAKE MY ADVICE!!!!!

IT WILL GET YOU LOCKED UP!!!!

Any one fancy a trip the Dam...???

RSPCA mate...if they see that the animal is distressed they will force an entry with the help of the police and rescue the dog. I reckon he would be looking at a fine and getting banned from keeping animals

Oh and if you still feel like chinning him...do it one dark night with no witnesses, have your alibi sorted... and make it good so that he remembers

It's a chance that dog should grasp by the sound of it. He'd know it was you, though, because of the prior complaint, and he'd have the coppers knocking on your door. It's a poor situation for you because the authorities move at a snail's pace. Some people should have their oxygen supply removed for the good of everyone else.

This seems the best option but because I'm the only one thats had words with him over it its a bit obvious who made the call. Problems problems eh.

Is he likely to do anything to you about it? If he's a psycho then maybe it could be an issue, if not then just ring the RSPCA.

Complain to the council about him as well as the RSPCA, they should send you a 'noise diary' or something gay. Fill it in (make it sound much worse than it really is if you need to) and send it back - ASBO fun.

Also, purely for childish 'taste of his own medicine' type things, make sure he is woken up at all hours by mysterious phone calls and pizza deliveries...

Same situation as me currently, some idiot two doors down has a dog he leaves at out at 7am, and aorund 11PM at night barking for at least an hour, it keeps waking my daughter up.I rung the council, and they tell you to keep logs for a month. I thought - [Poor language removed] that, i have typed a letter, and will print it and post it to them quietly noting that noise pollution will not be tolerated by the Council or you/me.

Do it on the d-low first, then bring the heavies in.

Good luck.
