Player Valuation: £50m
Nothing new this like, just amused/peeved me. In this story here:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19212916

it states how Mancini is bemoaning how his club hasn't signed anyone yet, then at the side lists all the signings made by City's rivals this summer:

City's rivals' summer signings
•Manchester United: Shinji Kagawa, Nick Powell
•Arsenal: Santi Cazorla, Olivier Giroud, Lukas Podolski
•Chelsea: Eden Hazard, Thorgan Hazard, Marko Marin, Oscar
•Tottenham: Gylfi Sigurdsson, Jan Vertonghe
•Newcastle: Romain Amalfitano, Gael Bigirimana, Curtis Good
•Liverpool: Fabio Borini

Now I'm not saying for one minute that Everton will be a serious rival to Man City this coming season. If we have a good start and enjoy a bit of luck, we could well be top 6, at a push.

But how on earth are Liverpool 'City's rivals' when we finished above them last season? Why aren't we included on that list? We signed two players who will be important to us this season in Naismith and Pienaar. You could argue for Newcastle on that list (maybe). But Liverpool??? The media bias they get is ridiculous. Even when they finish 8th and below us, they're still treated like top contenders whilst we are marginalised. Why show 6 other clubs like that, when Everton are nearly always in and around the top 7, and have been for the last 5 years?

It reminds me of Sky. Whenever Liverpool are 6th in the league, they show the top 6 on the screen. Whenever Everton are 6th, it becomes the top 5, and so on.

I wouldn't want us on that list just showing us signing a free from a liquidated Rangers and a player who was always ours anyway.

I wouldn't lose to much sleep over it mate, the fans of the clubs you have mentioned need to be recognised to feed their self-importance.

I'm more than happy for us to go quietly about our work. Anyway, I think all those teams bar Newcastle will finish above us.

Mancini moaning about lack of signings, what the hell, is he taking the piss? they dont need to sign anyone but maybe Mancini should be offloading players first.

For starters he want another defender, which man city do need so he wants agger who got 2 years left on his contract and never completed a full season, always suffered from about 3 injuries a year, and yet the rs want 25 million, i can see why city dont want to buy at that price, maybe he should look at cheaper players, he could have jags for around 18 million.

Couldn't give a stuff about 'that lot over there.'

This summer has been ace in the fact that I have given the r/s very little thought at all, life is much better that way than being preoccupied by them constantly.

Complaining about this is quite honestly below us. We know we're better, like. No use to be the 10-year-old that's complaining about not being allowed to play in the (catdropping-filled) sandbox with the 4-year-olds.

DEAR MR MANKINI

THANKYOUS FOR YOUR GENEROOS DONATINGS OF 6 PREMIER LEAGINGS POINTS.

PLEASE COME AGAIN,

Just because he's from 'a liquidated Rangers' doesn't mean he's a crap player. If they were a properly run club and we hadn't struck lucky, he'd be worth at least £4m/£5m. Same with Jelavic - is he any less of a player because we only spent £2.5m on him?

I agree with the rest of what you said, it does us good to go about things quietly and under the radar. At the same time though, it would be nice to have a higher profile. It might lead to other things - like investment, for example.

Not with Bill at the helm.

Anyway, never said Naismith was a crap player. I've said before though, a hat-trick against AEK reserves hasn't convinced me yet. My point was, Its embarrassing really seeing a list where all we have signed is a freebie from a liquidated club coz we are skint and a player who was ours anyway really.

It is great being overlooked by the media and the BBC. Because it is great coming good and sticking their complacency and laziness up their backsides. F*** em!

There a bigger team than us, Deal with it
It's the lack of consistancy in the criteria they use which shows up the lack of quality in Journalism. When we finished 6th, 5th and 5th in consecutive seasons, did any of us consider us serious title contenders? I certainly didn't. And I can't remember anyone on this forum doing so. So why Newcastle after one good season? It's the lack of quality in journalism which annoys me. Not the fact that we're not on the list.
