Baxter and Duffy

Thought Duffy was shitting himself at first but he settled into the game in the second half.

Baxter was neat and tidy for the most part without really doing anything exciting.

Overall a good runout for them.

Coleman played really well, very impressed with him.

Duffy had a dodgy start but grew into the game and looked solid.

Baxter didn't do much, some neat touches in the first half but that was about it.

Duffy and Coleman marshalled well and brought through by Baines and Hibbert. If Duffy is really 16 years old and is really six feet ten inches tall, then Drogba better retire in four years because we could have a player prepared and capable of kicking him (Drog) up the backside. Baxter showed some nice touches and the awarenes to keep running and trying to find space. Made up for all three under 20's.

To be honest though, we kind of sat back a lot in 2nd half. Also worth noting that Baxter is not a right winger and it's clear he is being asked to play in a strange position.

Coleman's way better on the right. My only criticism would be that he never seems aware who's moving round the back of him. It nearly cost us with Juanfran nearly getting a pen. Impressed with him overall though.

Well that has been Hibbert's main problem as a Right back thoughout his career. He is often lose to the man coming on the blindside.

Good to see the kids getting some praise.
I've long wanted them to get their chance. I'm anticipating great things from Duffy and Coleman.

His two outings have been away from home when we've been under the cosh and struggling to get recognised CBs out on the pitch. I think when we're in control of a game and we have a settled CB pair to marshall the situation we could see a different type of game from Coleman. I get the impression he likes getting up the pitch.

Good expierence.

Baxter looked assured, intellagent and willing to me, moved into some pretty decent spaces in the first half, but his game went the way of our set up in the second sit back, absorb and wait to counter.

Duffy did well in a difficult position and situation, coleman looked ok - many of the expierenced players covered for him. Not forgeting hes 21 and a lot older then the likes of Rodwell and Baxter.
