Battery Drain

not sure what’s been going on the last couple of days, but my phone’s getting VERY hot (uncomfortably so) and battery is draining at an alarming rate (like 20% in half an hour) when browsing the forum. Only happens on GOT too

Usually have Adblock off on here, but tried turning it on and the problem stopped.

Seems like there’s some weird ads causing processor overload or something.

At a loss then sorry mate. Just looking at usage levels across the forum now, and on my arl Samsung S9 and they're really low.

I'd flag it to the ad network but I'd need to know which ads and I also know they have device fail safe that cut ads when resource is high on a device.

Has your phone had any updates recently? Mine was doing similar (getting really hot and battery draining when using safari after a recent update).
But they done an update patch a few days later, and it seems to have gone away.

It's the porn you leave running in the background, the adds on that are bs too.. horny milfs in your area want to hook up... I wish there were horny milfs in my area that wanted to hook up.

GoT must be your most used website you use and you have correlated that with it being the cause of your battery draining.

Sounds like your battery is failing, you should also disable apps you do not use, unused apps are draining on the battery, just enable the ones you need to get notifications and disable the rest.

Also never charge your battery to 100%, you should on Phone and Tablets charge to 80% and start charging it when it gets to 40%, Ion-Lithium batteries are more efficient and have longer life on the 80%-40% charge.

Thanks for the advice, but I'm familiar with proper device care. The battery's not failing (it's a 2 month old device with 100% battery health) and as I've said, GOT is the only site it happened on - it's not perception, it's just the way it was.

FWIW, it seems to have stopped in the last 24hrs. Fingers crossed it stays that way

Just put him on ignore. Battery problem sorted.

Just had this happen to me. Phone became very hot (but it’s on charge right now). Was browsing GOT and had the Everton Twitter space on in the background. Very odd. Don’t think it’s anything to do with the site though of course.
