Is it just me?..... what a money grabbing little toe-rag.

His move to the Barcodes is stalling because he's insisting that Man City have to pay him 300k, because he didn't ask for a transfer (never mind the fact that now he's on the St James gravy train express, he's not going to be short of a few bob ). Can someone please explain to the numbwit what a release clause is?

It's him saying he wants the option to leave if a club offers 5.5M. Got [Poor language removed] all to do with Sitteh, he doesn't have to go anywhere but yet a club's offered it, and he's dropped his drawers... yet he still wants Sitteh to leave him a few bob on the bedside table?

knob jockey.... glad we steered clear..... grasping knob jockey

I am soooo happy I stood by my opinion that he is a money hungry thieving little [Poor language removed]. Now I just got to look through this site for the person that was going to walk through fire to see him here ;) ;) ;)

hes kicking them in the bollocks because he feels they have kicked him in the bollocks.

legally speaking (hahaahaha) it appears contractually he is in the right, so city might just have to cough up.

at least it means next season city vs toon they wont have to pipe the atmosphere and crowd noise in.

Start voteing lads see the sig!

Twas me alright cheif still think the same too, im still gutted we didnt get him he was my no 1 ask for the summer. Still think we missed a huge bargain, and in years to come wish we signed him.

Hopefully im wrong mate, just think his rep is blown out of all proportion, anyhow i like players with a little bite about them, as suits famously said a player you want "after 70 mins against Chelsea".

Big mistake, you heard it here first!

My opinion of him has been fully vindicated, he is a [Poor language removed] bag and totally suited to the barcodes, tf he never came near us. Could someone start a 'Monty you were right' thread please.

You won't be right until he plays [Poor language removed] and the barcodes get relegated this season.

here's hoping!!

he can't be.... the clause was in the contract as his request, therefore, if the clause is activated, and he joins the club that activated the clause (he's entirely within his rights to turn them down) he is leaving the club at his own request and is entitled to [Poor language removed] all.

It looks like the Barcodes have bought out the problem anyway, I noticed he's joined them for £5.8m. That'll be the £5.5 Buy out and the 300k to Joey, through City's books...... not sure how legal that is though;)

At what point do we draw the line? when a player is willing to leave or when a club is willing to sell?

Its easier for city to dump just barton instead of buying out all the foreign players he had a go at just to keep him.

Ah, but City never said they wanted him to go... they couldn't stop him from leaving due to the clause he had put in his contract. Pretty clear cut really... still the Barcodes made the problem disappear by throwing some more money at it... pity it never worked for their back 4 :D

At no point have I said he is a bad player, I have always claimed that he is a [Poor language removed] bag not suited to our changing room so why have you seen fit to introduce 'conditions' that never existed.:dodgy:

well frankly monty, you said you were proved right about something, at the end of the day if Newcastle finish higher than us in the league and barton has been a key part of that then it will have been a mistake not to sign him.

no manny now, we need that central midfielder... manny gone, parker gone, barton gone.... carlsey can't play forever you know.

You say he is a [Poor language removed] bag, ever met him?
