barry was better than beto yesterday but the whole team played better in the 2nd half so that made him stand out a little more. barry or beto are both going to be up against it when balls keep getting flung at their head

Barry was as isolated as Beto, and in the 2nd half, we stopped just chucking the ball up pointless and worked harder.

Beto's header which led the 2nd goal will be his downfall but he had no joy from poor passing.

The biggest issue isn't our striker, it's the wing backs. We need width and we need to work out wide to produce crossing opportunities.

This helps Ndiaye and Grealish also and bring the Dewsbury-Hall into the game more.

Against Wolves, I would play Patterson/Coleman AND Aznou plus keep Beto upfront
Jesus Beto has had 3 shocking games, and the striker is our biggest issue. And what difference will throwing in few more crosses make, we’ve scored from clever balls out wide from Grealish. A more intelligent forward would benefit so
Much from
the players we have. Obviously that’s not happening till next season, but I’d be happy Beto never starting another game

The difference was Barry actually kept the ball and his movement is on another level, the reason we improved because we had someone who could hold onto to the ball a lot better. We did play balls to Beto feet at times sadly his touch was so bad the ball would go backwards 20 yards

We should if signed a better striker than Barry, we simply don't have time to wait for Beto or Barry to improve. I think we would of got something yesterday with a better striker. Same against Villa and Leeds. Can't complain about other signings, but we can't have strikers who go missing in games or miss multiple chances. Ever since Lukaku left we've lacked a striker who scares opposition defenders.

Why do we not have time? What are you expecting to happen this season that means we don’t have time, I don’t really understand that viewpoint at all.

For me it’s the most straight forward decision ever.

Play Beto, the player we already know what he can & can’t do, and the one that isn’t going to improve?

Or play the player with a higher ceiling, who can still massively improve, if given the minutes?

Play Barry, and give him a run of games, is the only choice.

What he's saying is - While L'pool are marching on to another Prem title and a Champs Lge challenge we are lagging behind. An⁰d with 2 strikers as bad as these two, we are going to drop points if we can't win a game when we should. Next year, they'll have ANOTHER £450m to spend and we are not closing that gap on a European place that pays big money. Can't faff about waiting or taking a punt on a player to improve OR one for the future. The gulf between clubs is widening and we havent got the time to hang around.

Liverpool play a completely different sport to us currently I'm afraid to say. It helps when you are one of the clubs that basically gets to write the rules but at the same time they built their squad up over several seasons under Klopp before they had sustained success. We have been circling the drain recently and have only just come out on the other side by the skin of our teeth. Comparing our situation to them is folly.

This season is all about consolidation and progression. The team hasn't clicked yet, we have done some good things in moments but it's clear there's still a long way to go. We have played 5 league matches and there were glaring problems in all of them, as well as lots things to be positive about as well.

The two strikers are not our only problem, and I wouldn't be shocked to see either of both of these strikers start to score once the team clicks.

Agree with a lot BUT not on the two strikers. In my eyes BOTH are inept and not good enough for Everton to stride forward. Got a feeling we're going to drop 2pts in games where we should win due to poor ball control, vision and missed chances. Was hoping in transfer window we could buy enough quality to at least challenge for 5th or 6th by scoring more goals.

I think it's fine to not rate them, although perhaps a little premature on Barry who we've really not seen much of so far.

I think to be aiming, at least, to challenge for 5th/6th considering where we have come from though is pretty lofty. I know anything is possible, Nottingham Forest proved that you can go from being crap to good in no time but it's usually a slower process than that.

The strikers may well hold us back from turning draws into wins but until I see them missing chances galore or butchering every single attack then I'm prepared to be more patient with them. As it stands I think they're very isolated, either because we are going too long, too early, without enough bodies in and around the front man to pick up the pieces or because when we get the ball out wide our wingers get doubled up on and have no option but to recycle back or inside.

We know from experience that strikers aren't always the ones who benefit most in a Moyes team but it's still early and we have plenty of options to try yet and make the team more creative.
