The reason he's been so crap is that he's played out of position so much to the point where his confidence is shot.

We're not going to fix his form if we continue to play him out of position.

It does not matter what position he plays.
Cannot head a ball, he is over 6 foot and jumps 5 foot
Cannot tackle
No positional sense
Cannot pass a ball accurately
Cannot cross a ball
Finally he rarely scores
So a a player with all those attributes, should play where ?

To be fair to the kid, last night west brom were so defensive there simply was no room in the final third of the pitch for Barkley to be able to do anything....every time we had the ball they dropped back to a back 5 with 3 holding midfielders just in front, effectively a back 8!....

Even a world class player like Silva struggled to get into the game against Arsenal on Sunday because Arsenal set up with 1 holding midfielder with the job to deny City space in the final third of the pitch....

If teams continue to refuse to play football against us, we're gonna be in trouble....barkley will continue to be suffocated.....had we scored the peno last night, west brom would have had to come out and play and Barkley would have had a chance to grow into the game....its tough for him on nights like last night, he'd have been even more frustrated playing than we were watching.....didn't like the crowd getting on his back abit last night when he didn't shoot a couple of times (hard to shoot when you have 10 defenders blocking the goal)....
