Bang ! And the dirt is gone.

Two Everton related articles are in Britains' best Sunday newspaper today.
The first one has David Moyes saying,

"You don't get a lot of money for winning the FA Cup but will it attract investors? I hope it will. We're one of the big boys. On the other hand, I like it that we have a steady British owner with the club at heart. We're competing with the likes of Manchester City and Aston Villa financially before I even mention the Big Four. I hope we're going to generate more cash for the team. I've not been told yet if our new commercial deal will do that."

The second article has the most intelligent of newspapers stating that,

EVERTON have joined the hunt for Dynamo Kiev striker Ismael Bangoura.

The Guinea international has netted 37 goals in 58 games for the Ukrainian outfit and scored against Arsenal in this season's Champions League. He also notched against Manchester United and Roma in the competition and his goal against PSV helped secure Kiev's place in the UEFA Cup semis. The 24-year-old has two years left on his contract but there is a buy-out clause which allows him to leave for £8million. But it is thought Kiev would allow him to depart for a figure closer to £7m.

Happy days.

how much will it cost us to keep Jo, i've heard 10/11mill, but also a cut price 7, then again i've heard they want close to the 18 they paid. does anyone know the real price? if they are both 7 mill i'd be happy to just keep Jo. On the whole newspaper thing, which papers overthere tend to actually have substance to their stories, and which are the ones that are complete bolox??

G'day C0yle.
In all honesty I'm not sure if anyone has a definitive answer regarding how much Jo will cost - if David Moyes decides he wants him.

As far as I'm concerned, the News of the World is hit & miss regarding fooball speculation.

Finally, as you suggest, if Everton are prepared to spend £7m on a striker -- is it better the devil you know (Jo has age on his side).

I just hope we spend at least some of the budget we will have, a lot earlier than last season. Cause i could not take another summer like the last one.

Bangoura is an interesting possibility. Looks like he's got potential and he'd be under £10m.

I think City will be asking over £10m for Jo, some of that may be justified because he's only 21 (Bangoura's 24), but we can't afford to pay that kind of money for someone who wouldn't be in our first choice XI anytime soon.

hey Les,
to be honest i rate Jo, i know alot don't but for mine he is what we lack, a player who makes defenders worry he's going to go past them.
he has pace and skill, not the finished product yet though, but like you say, he's still young.
dont post that much(i am shocking with spelling grammar and typing) but keep up to date with whats happening on here. Congrats on your poem the other day it was tops.

He's fast and is a good finisher, but probably no better than Yakubu.

Moyes should go in for Milevskiy instead... God, he would be brilliant for us.

Alright fella', thanks for the nice words about my poem - appreciated.
I agree regarding Jo, he is starting to grow on me, he's willing to put a shift in and he seems to be developing a presence.

You mention your your typing skills -- kidda', don't let it put you off from posting more -- anyone who knocks someone elses grammar or spelling is shallow. I criticize my own typings but that's as far as it goes.

Sam Allardyce made a good point yesterday, regarding Fellaini -- he is the only player of his type in the premiership. Jo, for me, is a bit Berby' (Berbatov) but hasn't got Berby's dislikeable attitude.

And when the stirring songs, like Abide With Me, are sung on Cup Final Day, here's my rendition of 'Danny Boy' :-

Oh Everton, Z-Cars, Z-Cards, are calling
From Goodison, all over Merseyside
Jagielka's gone, and all the fans were sighing
Tis' blue, tis' you must go and lift the side.
But come ye back when broken bones are mended
Or when the spirit is ready to play like you once did
Cos' we'll be here in numbers and in gusto
Oh Everton, oh Everton, we love you so.

Jo is NOT an Everton player . Off what ive seen so far I personally cannot see it . Yesterday he was pathetic . He has just not got it .

Jo would only start growing on me once he performed away from Goodison. I dont dislike the lad but i still remain firmly sat on the fence.
