Im sorry but without being too bias here, for me baines is the best left back in the prem and has been over the last 18months. Cole has a solid unit playing around him and has the media support. Baines has been outstanding in an average defence by Moyes's standard and also has lost his partnership with Stevie P and is still our most creative player and debatebly our best defender
 
Cant see Baines wanting to go to city or spurs tbh, there is too much love for him here and doesnt seem the type to ever have his head turned by more money.

Oh and he ****s all over Cashley on ability.
 
city sheik surely watched yesterdays game and thought, "i want to buy him"..and calls to mancini, you have the money, do your job..
 

Baines is boss, amazing attacking, bit poo defending sometimes.

Should be our #1 prospect to keep seeing as he's blue and local.

If anybody wants him, it's £30m minimum.

I do wish he'd get a haircut, can't stand this 2 for £1 in jacaranda look.

As for the whole Baines vs. Cole debate, I actually think they're on par with each other. Baines has the goods on Cole from an attacking/crossing standpoint while I do think that right now, Cole is a better overall defender. You also have to give Cole the edge when it comes to experience in the big matches against big teams, something Baines just hasn't had.

I'd still take Baines over Cole but that's because I see Baines week in and week out. Cole would slot into just about any club team in the world at his position. Baines? Not so sure on that (yet).
 

Baines impacts the match more than Cole does at this point.

If you're looking to pack it in and pass the ball around the back 4, Cole is your guy.

If you're looking to be dynamic and impose your will on the other side, Baines is your guy.
