It's all part of 'Woy's' Master Plan. If only he can only persuade Stevie G to stay for the next two World Cups at least.
Wouldn't that be wonderful.

Essentially Jags with his age is not going to see another WC and can only be marginal for the Euros in 2016, for me a blessing in disguise so his all for the next couple of years or so will be for the club. Baines will still be in with a shout for the Euros but no the WC, now whether he is injured or not he can rest before reporting for training, good for the club.

Shaw will definitely be first choice left back for the WC, with Baines or some promising youngster (Garbutt?) as backup. I'd like to see Baines score one magical freekick in the Euros so that everyone remembers him as a boss.

If Rooney had not got in the way in his panic to score WC goals then baines may well have notched up his first WC goal. But that darned Rooney!!
