Little bit snobby about kit manufacturers aren't you?

I would wear Kappa or Diadora with only Milwall if they offered the best deal.

I'm definitely not a snob ;) but it's undeniable we have gone from the biggest sports manufacturer in the world as Nike are to a small time brand that is basically unheard of internationally, I don't see how that is a positive step for Everton. It's typical of the small time mentality of the club I'm afraid to say

There are fans that have this rose tinted view of Umbro as this retro English company or are excited at the prospect of cool, unique kits so how come other clubs aren't falling themselves to sign with Umbro?
Nike didn't promote us, so who cares if they're a world wide brand?

It's only beneficial to sign with a world wide brand if they use our name. Which they didn't. For obvious reasons. Better to sign with a smaller company that will use us on promotional material than a massive company that will ignore us in all press releases.

Kindly [Poor language removed] mate. The Everton badge is all that matters.

So you are a snob?

We were just an afterthought to Nike, if that. They didn't really promote us, we didn't even have a section on the Nike website, and Aston Villa used to have one of those.

I do like the look of the new Umbro gear at other clubs, and I think they will go at least a bit further out of their way to promote us. We are the biggest club on their books, and rather than looking at that as "pfft, we're hardly keeping up with the Jones's (Barca, Utd etc.)", we can see it is a good opportunity.

I will judge Umbro when we are a year or two into our term with them, just like I reserved judgement on the Nike deal until recently. I just don't care who makes the kits - with the exception of Adidas, I hate those three stripes on the sleeves and the shorts.

Are you wearing a smoking jacket?

Since when was it cool to bum massive corporations?

I don't see Barcelona or Real Madrid or even Man Utd rushing to sign with Umbro

Who cares?

I care more about what the kit looks like than who makes it.

Besides, with Umbro we're a big fish in a small pond. More likely to get extra attention and effort than Nike would give us. After all, they've got to keep designing and churning out ghastly Barca kits.
