Aussie Evertonians

All you aussie's im after some advice about joining you over there in that sunny country.

I have had loads of people tell me the last couple of years I would be mad not to give australia a go, Im an electrician, I do qualify at the moment and I have been looking at the gold coast. I wouldnt be going till mid 2012 at the earliest so I have time to have a good think about it.

Ive done a lot of research on it, seen as the work is dire in this country and its not going to change any sooner i'm figuring now is the time to do it. I love the climate, apparantly a great lifestyle and good people so im thinking of going over to check it out myself.

What do you aussie's think yay or nay?

Also can you watch english football every weekend out there? This is a big factor for me, mrs thinks im mental though but she dont understand.

You never miss a match on the interweb mate, no worries on that front like.

You should go for it I reckon, I've never been to Oz but lets be honest it sounds great and your trade would fit in well there.

If it goes tits up then you come back home. Loads of people consider stuff like that but never do it, which is a shame. Don't think you can't do it, make it happen lid.

I have a lot of relatives who made the switch, not one has come back. Every one of them tell me it is a great place to live, and the work is plentiful.
You should give it a go. Why look back in 20ys and regret NOT doing it.

Every person I have spoke to says go for it, thats one thing I dont want to regret not doing it.

I have family who have emigrated and none have come back.

What have you got to lose?? Gotta be worth a go, i would love to but my kids are too old now and i couldnt leave them behind xx

Austrailia is one of the few western countries not suffering a complete meltdown financially, you'd defo find work and command a good wage. Living is good, I have a few mates over there who love it more than NZ, which I believe is saying something.
Just watch out for the natural disasters. Since Xmas theyve had floods, cyclones and bush fires!

And they have giant spiders. Massive ones. And snakes. In New Zealand we just have sheep. Lots and lots of sheep.

As an expert on the subject, you'd be doing yourself and your family a huge favour mate.

Although, Ive come from a family that made the switch many moons ago, I've not seen any of my generation of emmigraters return. Maybe for a holiday see the extended family...thats it.

All my mates who have gone to the UK always come back within a few years. Its the cost of living. They thinks it's expensive down under, and they move to London.

There is ALWAYS work here for tradies. You will walk into a job, and qualified sparkies/plumbers/builders can make really good money.

The Gold Coast will be a massive culture shock for you mate. I lived there for about 6 months, and that was all i could take. Think Fluero, residential skyscrapers and Japanese Tourists. Heaps of storms, fake boobies and punk surfie kids.

You have to ask yourself whether your missus and kids can handle being away from mothers/family for long...that should be the contributing factor in your decision mate, and if you need any more advice from McB's Tourism Bureau.

And they have Austar Cable/Satellite in QLD.

Ah, well I guess I meant countries associated with USA/UK etc. But on second thoughts, a lot of trade is done with Asia now in this part of the world, so much so that you'd call us (Aus/NZ) part of Asia now.
