G'day all
Just joined...with some purpose as you will see below.
As a general introduction...
Where about are you from?: Originally from Melbourne but now living in Indianapolis, USA.
How did you find these forums?: Internet search, then reading the tone of the board.
How did you become an Evertonian?: Ahh...good question that. As a kid I used to avoid going to church. Instead I used to listen to a sports result service and sometimes see scores in the newspaper. In 1966 Everton came up a lot of times, especially with the FA Cup results, and I have followed them ever since. My kid now follows the Toffees on, from what I can tell, every social medium known to mankind. His FIFA teams are always known as Everton.
Your all-time favourite Everton player?: Don't have much of a choice there...Tim Cahill. I was at Kaiserslautern in 2006 when he came on to win the game for Australia...did Everton proud that day as well.
Your current favourite player?: Tom Davies
Worst moment: Lying on a beach in a remote area of Papua New Guinea listening to a broadcast of the 1985 FA Cup final. Thanks to Norman Whiteside the radio is now at the bottom of the Bismarck sea
Pineapple on Pizza, Is it socially acceptable? What are your views? As and Australian I have to say its socially acceptable. Every pizza shop menu has the Hawaiian on it. Wouldn't eat it myself though.
OK...that's enough about me. Now I look to you for help. On September 22nd I will be flying in for what will be my first Everton game ever (vs. Bournemouth). I am looking for help on a few things.
Obviously the first (and most important) thing will be to find a ticket. From there, I want to make a day of it. So, how does a typical Everton fan spend gameday. I am going to arrive on the Friday. Advice on where to stay Friday night? What does one do Saturday before the game? After the game? Any traditions that should be observed? Favorite pubs/pie shops? I'm look for help on any/all of this and I'll be happy to compile a list for comment.
Cheers
Mike
