If you buy new, get the iPad3 16GB WIFI only version. I don't see the reason to purchase a 3G/4G version that costs a LOT more, and requires paying $30 a month for a data plan for it, especially when personal hotspots are so easy to hook up for free these days.
 
Depends on why you want one. If it's just for internet and watching vids then you cannot go wrong with the IPad2. If you want the latest stuff the "New Ipad" is for you.
 
I am thinking of an iPad3 solely for that super, super screen. I need to go play with one and check out the black levels for myself before I commit to one.....

An iPad 2 will do me nicely. Waiting a couple more months and I'll finally get one
 

My mate once had this great idea for a Wank Pad.

Consisted of several minges taped onto cardboard and laminated.

I had a go, see no real super urge to upgrade from the iPad 2, if you have no iPad then it's a no brainier. It's a great screen.
