Atmosphere at Goodison

What a bad bunch of buckets some of those tweeters are
I find twitter in general like that most of the time.

Why be nice to someone when you can belittle them, swear at them, say horrid things and wish them dead through cancer?

For someone as easy going as me, I dislike it immensely.

Anyway, back on topic, I find that it's up to both us and the team - we should cheer them on regardless, but they should also have to earn that cheering through superb football. Both parties should be taking the initiative.

As I've said to other fan I think few should arrange a meeting with Alan Myers with the clubs support you could get 300 supporters in there rather than 30. I think it's an issue of confidence in the derby we stand up at the back for the 90 minutes, in the FA cup game against Liverpool in 2009 I was on row L and stood up the whole match. There are obviously fans who want to stand they are just worried about the fan behind them telling them to sit down.

Thing is though if you can't get 30 without the clubs help then why should they take us seriously enough to help us if we can't even help ourselves?
Plus even if you get an area for 300 then you still need a block of 30 within that that to create it, plus a group within that clock of 30 too, trust me.

Imagine if all prem teams reduced season ticket prices and increased capacity by introducing safe standing (the seats are usually thinner so it would enable bigger capacity). Just look at Bundesliga crowds, you hardly ever see an empty seat and the atmosphere is fantastic.

Does anyone know why this flag is not waving anymore?

I know a lot of people are kind of "above this" and consider it all a bit too American and prefer a casual attitude which requires very little effort from them. To them I would ask: players have said it helps. Howard, Distin ... I'm sure there are others. Are they wrong? Why? If they are right ... and having the best atmosphere in the Prem (which we could with some effort) is worth even 1-3 extra points a year ... why wouldn't you want to help out?

We don't have to become Palace FFS. We can do it right without seeming fake or poseury. We basically just need what we do now ... just louder and more of it. Anything else is icing.

You know who gets stuff done? Our manager. I think if we can make enough noise to get him to speak on this publicly (and privately) then it might force the club's hand. We could improve things without the club's help but if they made a real effort to promote this (and help out with safe standing etc) it would go so much quicker and smoother. 12th man and all that.

Everyone should do what they want to do really.

Given how many whinge about the atmosphere, there should be a large number who are waiting for the person next to them to start / keep singing so that they don't feel like a muppet when they do it themselves. No harm in having a go at kick-starting that. If it turns out that we're actually not all just waiting for the lad / lass in the next seat to get started, then fair enough.

Aye why not. Don't think its a bad idea for all the lids who want to do that to organise a part of the stadium together, good luck to them.

I've seen it muted on here numerous times but it hasn't really got going but maybe they'll get some traction. Were a weird bunch of support so they're got their work cut out.

It has to be done officially because even Celtic's Green Brigade had a hard time changing the atmosphere at Celtic due to the fact that block was still full of fans who didn't want to sing. Their atmosphere only improved when the club gave them the whole block, United fans were given a singing area recently by their club. This debate has been going on for the last 5 years, I thought it could be done unofficially but it failed. Because not all supporters use the forums and fan websites, it you want to do it unofficially it has to be done by informing fans through leaflets outside the ground. The only other option is you set up a group similar to that of the Green Brigade, where the club simply gives you an area of the ground that suits the number of members you have. I don't know why people think only 30 fans would want to stand at home games, even at United thousands of their supporters stand. You just need someone near the front of the section starting the songs.

People on twitter saying we have the best support in England. Give up with life. What is so good about singing Allez allez allez au constantly

If you bring a drum then you have crap fans apparently.
