atmosphere at Goodison is awful.

The atmosphere is generated by a mix of what is happening on the pitch, who the opposition are and what's at stake. when it all comes together the atmosphere at Goodison is great.

Has anybody noticed the singing is coming from around gt7? Have we set up a private singing section in recent weeks? I didn't get the memo or the invite

It's a vicious cycle. Players need the fans to give them a boost; but fans need something entertaining to get them going.

I remember a couple of seasons back in the Spurs match: We were 0-1 down and it was silent for 85 minutes. I thought it was shocking. Then, we scored an equaliser and the stadium erupted with chanting for the final 5 minutes. Sure enough we bagged another to steal the game.

Perhaps we need to act first before the players in this case.

If we wanted an alternative 'singing section' to the St End, could we not just organise this ourselves? I'd be in.

It showed yesterday in the first few minutes when we really came out of the blocks that the atmosphere will pick up if the team actually play with some heart.
When the team revert back to playing like gobsh1tes the fans won't sing they will boo and moan, simples.

Team doesn't help the fans, that's also for sure.

Shouldn't work that way, sadly it does but the idea of being a supporter is to go and support the team but we dont seem to do that.

I will say tho. The footy on the pitch is a direct mirror of the fans " atmosphere"

Gash footy ='gash atmosphere'. It's no surprise we are so poor both on the pitch and off it at the moment.
Thing is if people want to go and sit down and wait for the entertainment go the cinema, or the Liverpool Empire, people are wasting there time and money going to a football match if all your after is a good time and value for money.

Problem these days is too many fans sit in front of the TV watching Barcelona or top premiership sides and think that is the bench mark, but the reality for %90 of the football world is different.

I remember as a kid watching some genuinely poor teams and players and getting some awful results but the crowd got behind the team,I think the difference nowadays is even if certain players appear to try and give 100% even if they are playing terrible it doesn't seem to hurt them if we get beat, genuinely lads such as Steve Sergeant,Tiger McClaughlin,Roger Kenyon,Mick Buckley(RIP),Terry Darracott, would come off the pitch looking as though they were gutted, and I think that was it,you had a bond with the players, they wanted what we wanted,so we as fans got behind them always, not just some of the time.

That is it. There are not many supporters these days. Just "watchers"

The question is do the players need support when they playing comfortably and leading 3-0 ? No, they need it when it's "gash" and things are not going their=our way.

Surely they are paid for it and must perform despite the atmosphere or the lack of it but at the end of the day they are only humans
