Mr Red cafe...could you give us your personal answers to those questions? Would be interesting.

Sure.

Q1: What have you made of how Moyes has done for Manchester United this season?

Worse than I expected. Pretty much everything that could go wrong has gone wrong and hasn't been too helpful that a number of our fanbase were hoping from the off that Moyes would fail as they were bitter that Mourinho/another person of their choice wasn't made manager instead.

With the backroom staff, I can partly see the argument for it being stupid to have made such an overhaul, but from the three departures, as far as I can see it's only really the loss of Rene that was 'big' and from what I've heard, Rene wouldn't have wanted to stay anyway. Eric Steele was a great goalkeeping coach for us, and his work with de Gea (learning Spanish etc) will never be forgotten, but not got complaints about that change.

In terms of playing style, it's been horrid, but wasn't great last season either. As much as I blame Moyes, I blame the players too as some of them have hidden in their shells rather than standing up and being counted for, and the lineup leaks to the Mirror were one of the last things we needed and just exemplified this idea of United being in disarray.

He took too long to make subs at times, and when he did, it was a defensive sub to try and shut up shop (we inevitably failed nearly every time this happened and conceded some sort of late goal). I can see why he's got the nickname Dithering Dave. Over the last few months he has made more offensive subs, but they've usually left the team with no balance (one of his favourite moves is to sub on Hernandez for the last 10/15 minutes which does no good at all).

There's been complaints about his constant use of Valencia and Young, and not using Kagawa enough in his proper position, but overall I'd have to say in the last few weeks or so improvements have been made with how the team does and getting results (helped hugely by playing Mata being Rooney). Still not enough though, and the general consensus on the caf is that they'd be happy to see Moyes sacked and van Gaal brought in.

Q2: Where do you think Manchester United will finish in the league come the end of the season?

6th/7th.

Q3: RM has had a great first season in charge, do you think that he will be able to sustain this while evolving the side away from the one he predominantly inherited?

Yes. Difficulty will be with the funds you can get, but I can see Martinez making some shrewd signings for low money as well as getting some quality players in on loan. With teams seeing how your current loan players are doing for you, I can see there being quite a few offers.

Q4: Do you fear Roberto Martinez could land a job at a bigger club (e.g. Arsenal) so soon after doing such a wonderful job in one season at Everton?

Nah. One day he'll move on, but for the next few seasons at least he'll be with you, and he'll be committed until the end like with Wigan.

Q5: What is the biggest difference between Moyes' Everton and Martinez's Everton?

Kenwright's comments on Martinez's first words to him says it all really.

Q6: Do you think you'll finish fourth this season?

Before the Palace result I thought you'd do it, now I think it's unlikely but you still have a chance. Problem is it's not in your hands anymore and you do have tougher fixtures than Arsenal.

Q7: Do you think your club will be able to handle the heavy schedule with European football next year, especially with the number of players you brought in on loan this season?

Same as 3 really. I think you'll be fine.

Q10: Which team would you prefer to win the league out of Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City, and which team out of those do you think will win the league this season?

Would prefer Chelsea but it's clearly going to be Liverpool.

Q11: Are there any youth prospects you have that you’re excited about/looking forward to perhaps see breakthrough in the future?

James Wilson. Can't really comment on the others as I don't watch reserve football that much, but Rothwell, Pearson and Andreas Pereira are all highly rated.

Q12: What signings do you think/hope your club will make this summer?

LB, CB and two midfielders (future Carrick replacement + box to box midfielder). Would be nice to have a "proper" reserve choice right back for when Rafael is injured, but Varela might be promoted to the first team soon and can perform that role. Speedy winger would be nice too as there's no pace in the front four, but most important thing is the LB, CB and two midfielders.

Q13: What are your goals for the club next season?

Top four and an attempt to win the Europa League if we are in it (as long as it doesn't distract us from the league too much), as it is a trophy that we haven't won.

Q14: Which XI would you like to see your team field against us?

With the injury news latest...

de Gea; Jones, Smalling, Vidic, Evra; Carrick, Fellaini*; Kagawa, Mata, Welbeck; Rooney**

*would prefer Fletcher but it's clearly going to be Fellaini starting this
**clearly going to start but he'll be crap against you

Q15: Finally, your predictions for the match?

Everton win.

Thanks for all the responses. Here's the caf thread with them compiled.

Q1: What have you made of how Moyes has done for Manchester United this season?

Worse than I expected. He inherited a team that won the title. Obviously it's ridiculous to expect a 1st place finish on his first season, but he should be at least challenging for a top 5 spot.

Q2: Where do you think Manchester United will finish in the league come the end of the season?

Exactly where they are just now, perhaps 6th if Spurs mess up.

Q3: RM has had a great first season in charge, do you think that he will be able to sustain this while evolving the side away from the one he predominantly inherited?

To be honest, Martinez surprised me (as he did many other Evertonians). I think if we have a decent transfer window then yes, I believe we will be challenging top 4 again next season. And although some of the players are the same as the squad Moyes left behind, Martinez has forged an entirely different team.

Q4: Do you fear Roberto Martinez could land a job at a bigger club (e.g. Arsenal) so soon after doing such a wonderful job in one season at Everton?

No. There will be plenty of rumours in the papers, of that every Evertonian is certain, but Martinez will stay here at least another 2/3 years. If the board can't support his ambitions for the team after a few years in charge, then he might look elsewhere.

Q5: What is the biggest difference between Moyes' Everton and Martinez's Everton?

Belief. All the fans knew that a Moyes side went into big matches thinking a draw was the best result. Martinez has everyone involved with Everton believing that we can beat anyone on our day. Sure we don't always get the results we want (that's life right?) but we know that we are capable of great things.

Q6: Do you think you'll finish fourth this season?

Not anymore. The loss against Crystal Palace was it for me, I'm afraid to say. Had our remaining fixtures been similar to Arsenal's then maybe. But they're not, so no.

Q7: Do you think your club will be able to handle the heavy schedule with European football next year, especially with the number of players you brought in on loan this season?

We have been promised that there is money available to invest in the squad. If we use it wisely then yes. Using the loan system again next year, as well as bringing in permanent transfers will keep our squad fit and competitive.

Q8: Which player have you seen the biggest improvement in this season compared to last?

I wanted to say Barkley, but he didn't play last season. I want to say Stones, but he didn't play last season. I think Coleman is the right answer in this case. His play when attacking has been incredible this year.

Q9: Which player has surprised you the most with their levels of consistency and performances?

McCarthy without a doubt. I wasn't the only fan doubtful of his hefty price tag, but boy was he worth it. An absolute gem.

Q10: Which team would you prefer to win the league out of Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City, and which team out of those do you think will win the league this season?

Liverpool will win it, and good luck to them. I'm not bitter and their team has been excellent this year. As for who I prefer? I don't care. The only team I want to see with their hands on the title are Everton.

Q11: Are there any youth prospects you have that you’re excited about/looking forward to perhaps see breakthrough in the future?

The development of Barkley and Stones has every Evertonian pitching a tent in their trousers. There's also Garbutt, Browning and Conor McAleny who seems decent.

Q12: What signings do you think/hope your club will make this summer?

We need a striker to replace Lukaku. It is our most important position we need to fill. After that we need a young CB to replace Distin, another CM to rotate with Barry and a replacement for Robles because I'm not convinced by him at all.

Q13: What are your goals for the club next season?

Another push for top four. Also a trophy of some kind, perhaps the FA cup, or at least get to the quarter finals.

Q14: Which XI would you like to see your team field against us?

Howard, Baines, Distin, Stones, Coleman, Barry, McCarthy, McGeady, Barkley, Mirallas, Lukaku

Q15: Finally, your predictions for the match?

I just want a win. A crap 1-0 win courtesy of another goal would make me happy.
What does my head say? 1-1 draw.

Hi, I'm an admin on Manchester United forum RedCafe and we have a feature where we go onto opposition forums each week and ask questions ahead of games. If any of you could answer the following questions, it'd be appreciated. Thanks and good luck, you've had a great season so far.

Q1: What have you made of how Moyes has done for Manchester United this season?

I think it's a massive challenge for him, and given the time by the Board and shareholders and markets I think he will do OK.

Q2: Where do you think Manchester United will finish in the league come the end of the season?

5th

Q3: RM has had a great first season in charge, do you think that he will be able to sustain this while evolving the side away from the one he predominantly inherited?

Yes, he has adjusted to it like a duck to water. The difference between Wigan and Everton is that we are constantly improving, Dave W even said it was achievement to have stayed in the PL that long.

Q4: Do you fear Roberto Martinez could land a job at a bigger club (e.g. Arsenal) so soon after doing such a wonderful job in one season at Everton

Yes, but that's football. Nothing lasts forever.

Q5: What is the biggest difference between Moyes' Everton and Martinez's Everton?

Confidence, no fear & brown shoes.

Q6: Do you think you'll finish fourth this season?

No, but I'm hoping we do.

Q7: Do you think your club will be able to handle the heavy schedule with European football next year, especially with the number of players you brought in on loan this season?

We will just loan more.

Q8: Which player have you seen the biggest improvement in this season compared to last?

Coleman, followed by Howard.

Q9: Which player has surprised you the most with their levels of consistency and performances?

McCarthy, I was gutted we signed him for a big fee. He is a future captain.

Q10: Which team would you prefer to win the league out of Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City, and which team out of those do you think will win the league this season?

Chelsea, but it's the RS sadly.

Q11: Are there any youth prospects you have that you’re excited about/looking forward to perhaps see breakthrough in the future?

Ryan Ledson, Jonny Lundstram & Ty Browning are all expected in the first 11 in the next 12 months.

Q12: What signings do you think/hope your club will make this summer?

We all hope it's Lukaku I think, followed by an extension of Gerard's loan.

Q13: What are your goals for the club next season?

Sale of the club, billionaire owner and brown shoes for all.

We can push the top 3 above us even more given Martinez the opportunity to buy a few more quality players

Q14: Which XI would you like to see your team field against us?

Howard

Coleman
Stones
Distin
Baines

Mirallas
McCarthy
Barry
Deulofeu

Barkley

Lukaku

Subs - Robles, Hibbert, Naismith, Osman, McGeady.

Q15: Finally, your predictions for the match?

2-2

Added my comments to your original question.

Q1: What have you made of how Moyes has done for Manchester United this season?
Terrible, as everyone knew he would. Nothing could be done with that squad and it is enjoyable seeing he who left for bigger things suffer.

Q2: Where do you think Manchester United will finish in the league come the end of the season?
7th.

Q3: RM has had a great first season in charge, do you think that he will be able to sustain this while evolving the side away from the one he predominantly inherited?

Yep. I think after the summer transfer window, we'll be in a much stronger position. You can see that as the season has progressed and the team has evolved into Martinez's style, we have played better.

Q4: Do you fear Roberto Martinez could land a job at a bigger club (e.g. Arsenal) so soon after doing such a wonderful job in one season at Everton?
Big club =/= Arsenal.

Q5: What is the biggest difference between Moyes' Everton and Martinez's Everton?
Now, we attack and actually go out to win games.

Q6: Do you think you'll finish fourth this season?
Nope. Too much work to do.

Q7: Do you think your club will be able to handle the heavy schedule with European football next year, especially with the number of players you brought in on loan this season?
We will either buy or replace those who have been brought in on loan. We will have additions in the transfer window. We have quite a few long-term injuries to players and they'll be fit next season. We'll be fine.

Q8: Which player have you seen the biggest improvement in this season compared to last?
Howard. No question about it. Having his best season ever with us, by far.

Q9: Which player has surprised you the most with their levels of consistency and performances?
Again, Howard. He used to make terrible errors and couldn't dive to his left.

Q10: Which team would you prefer to win the league out of Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City, and which team out of those do you think will win the league this season?
Chelsea. I like Mourinho. I think they'll win it, too. They won't lose their match to Liverpool and once Liverpool fail to win a game their bubble will burst and they'll slip up.

Q11: Are there any youth prospects you have that you’re excited about/looking forward to perhaps see breakthrough in the future?
Barkley is still technically a youth prospect so for obvious reasons, he's the first one to mention. Stones has come in and done extremely well, so I look forward to him possibly having a starting role next season. We have a lot of (supposedly) talented academy prospects. The one Martinez seems to rate the most is a lad called Browning.

Q12: What signings do you think/hope your club will make this summer?
Barry. A new striker. A new CB. A youth prospect or two.

Q13: What are your goals for the club next season?
Champions League football. No doubt about that. As I said before, we've got better as the team has got more used to Martinez's style. We should rush out of the starting blocks next season instead of starting slowly like we did this season.

Q14: Which XI would you like to see your team field against us?
Howard, Baines, Stones, Distin, Coleman, Barry, McCarthy, Mirallas, McGeady, Barkley, Lukaku

Q15: Finally, your predictions for the match?
3-0 to us.

Q15: Finally, your predictions for the match?

Everton win.

Thanks for all the responses. Here's the caf thread with them compiled.

Cheers for that..not as extreme as some of the views on Red Cafe, quite well balanced. A lot of us could have told you well in advance what sort of manager Moyes would be at United, and we've been proved right. I suspect that his more positive changes lately are mainly an effort to save his own skin, because they're contrary to his mindset. Fellaini deserves time at OT..he took time to settle at Everton, but on his day he is a very effective, and dominating player(think of the 4-4 draw, for example)

Q1: What have you made of how Moyes has done for Manchester United this season?

I suppose you could use Uniteds results this season to show just how good Fergie was considering he won the league with basically the same squad. The difference is mainly in attitude, the managers opinion of his team is reflected in everything that happens on and off the field, at Everton Moyes had everyone embrace the glass ceiling as a shield against critical views from within and without of the club. I doubt he will be able to give players and fans at United the sense of awe and pride that Fergie exuded.
Your squad is good enough to do better.

Q2: Where do you think Manchester United will finish in the league come the end of the season?

Manchester United will finish where they currently sit.

Q3: RM has had a great first season in charge, do you think that he will be able to sustain this while evolving the side away from the one he predominantly inherited?

Yes, I believe to a significant degree he has already done this by adding a whole new confidence and quality added from permanent signings McCarthy and McGeady etc as well as developing the qualities of the existing players. Jags and Distin played like they hated the ball under Moyes, now they are taking part in the build up and passing the ball with improved precision. He has shown trust and patience to the youngsters allowing them to make mistakes so they can grow, as a result they are making strides, so much so that Barkley is considered good enough for England less than a year after Moyes didn't consider him good enough for Everton.

Q4: Do you fear Roberto Martinez could land a job at a bigger club (e.g. Arsenal) so soon after doing such a wonderful job in one season at Everton?

No.

Q5: What is the biggest difference between Moyes' Everton and Martinez's Everton?

I've mentioned some factors already, the most important one is how you deal with facing overwhelming odds, defeats and falling short of achieving what you want. Moyes looks for excuses, Martinez accept the challenge.

Q6: Do you think you'll finish fourth this season?

4th is still on I would say its 50/50, 5th is guaranteed.

Q7: Do you think your club will be able to handle the heavy schedule with European football next year, especially with the number of players you brought in on loan this season?

RM has planned for that particular challenge and he knows what we need. I am not even a little bit concerned about the loans returning. Barry is out of contract after the season and he loves it here. Deulofeu has been brilliant but not pivotal for us this season, Barca loves seeing their youngsters get match practice from the more physical and equally challenging league as their first team. Should Geri not return someone else may join from there. We will be able to afford Lukaku, Bony or another quality striker in the summer. It's a whole plan for building the team for the future here with hungry top notch loan players sprinkled on top.

Q8: Which player have you seen the biggest improvement in this season compared to last?

Just about every player has improved, and it's a close competition, but I'd say Coleman.

Q9: Which player has surprised you the most with their levels of consistency and performances?

Barry and McCarthy has been good almost every game they've played this season and it's been a lot, Stones has had an impressive run lately considering his age and status going into the season.

Q10: Which team would you prefer to win the league out of Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City, and which team out of those do you think will win the league this season?

I thought City before the season, but they look to be outsiders now. If Liverpool win they will have deserved it. Both those team are the most attacking teams so deserving candidates.

Q11: Are there any youth prospects you have that you’re excited about/looking forward to perhaps see breakthrough in the future?

Garbutt, Browning and Lundstram are close I think. Always exciting to see new players coming through at Everton.

Q12: What signings do you think/hope your club will make this summer?

A striker would be nice to start with, Lukaku is obviously high on that list whoever comes would have to match his goal tally of this season. I hope we get Barry sorted early.

Q13: What are your goals for the club next season?

Keep improving our squad, to win a trophy soon would be nice.

Q14: Which XI would you like to see your team field against us?

Howard, Coleman, Stones, Distin, Baines, McCarthy, Barry, Mirallas, Naismith, McGeady, Lukaku.

Q15: Finally, your predictions for the match?

Everton win, and great atmosphere.

Q1: What have you made of how Moyes has done for Manchester United this season?

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Q2: Where do you think Manchester United will finish in the league come the end of the season?

Probably 6th. Spurs are garbage.

Q3: RM has had a great first season in charge, do you think that he will be able to sustain this while evolving the side away from the one he predominantly inherited?

If he was able to make Sylvain Distin into an accomplished ball playing centre half, I have no fears for his future plans.

Q4: Do you fear Roberto Martinez could land a job at a bigger club (e.g. Arsenal) so soon after doing such a wonderful job in one season at Everton?

He'll manage Barcelona next.

Q5: What is the biggest difference between Moyes' Everton and Martinez's Everton?

Complete lack of fear. With Moyes, it was all too often play not to lose. With Martinez, every game is play to win.

Q6: Do you think you'll finish fourth this season?

No. Losing on Wednesday blew it. We needed to finish without defeat in our last 6.

Q7: Do you think your club will be able to handle the heavy schedule with European football next year, especially with the number of players you brought in on loan this season?

Apparently there's money to bring in 6 faces next season. If not, we'll just fcking loan everybody again and make the media fume.

Q8: Which player have you seen the biggest improvement in this season compared to last?

Seamus Coleman without question. He's gone from decent Premier League full back to one of the top marauding wing backs in Europe.

Q9: Which player has surprised you the most with their levels of consistency and performances?

Gareth Barry. Until he plays in your team, you have no idea how good a footballer he is.

Q10: Which team would you prefer to win the league out of Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City, and which team out of those do you think will win the league this season?

Either Chelsea or City, not arsed. Don't like any of them.

Q11: Are there any youth prospects you have that you’re excited about/looking forward to perhaps see breakthrough in the future?

Chris Long, Ryan Ledson and Jonjo Kenny

Q12: What signings do you think/hope your club will make this summer?

Lukaku permanently. Messi on loan.

Q13: What are your goals for the club next season?

Another tilt at the top four. More football in the style we've seen. Go to Anfield and not get mullered.

Q14: Which XI would you like to see your team field against us?

Howard, Coleman, Stones, Jagielka, Baines, Barry, McCarthy, Deulofeu, Barkley, McGeady, Lukaku.

Q15: Finally, your predictions for the match?

Everton win, Moyes to cry.

Q1: What have you made of how Moyes has done for Manchester United this season?
He's taken a team with a little bit more talent and led them to about where Everton would be if Moyes was still in charge here. I'm a bit surprised at a few of the results but it's possible it turns out alright if they stick with him.
Q2: Where do you think Manchester United will finish in the league come the end of the season?
6th- better than Spurs
Q3: RM has had a great first season in charge, do you think that he will be able to sustain this while evolving the side away from the one he predominantly inherited?
I think this season has shown that he can still produce results while changing the style of the squad, the play has been refreshing at the price of the odd frustrating game.
Q4: Do you fear Roberto Martinez could land a job at a bigger club (e.g. Arsenal) so soon after doing such a wonderful job in one season at Everton?
Not after one season, no. If he leaves it'll be to Barcelona after a few impressive seasons here.
Q5: What is the biggest difference between Moyes' Everton and Martinez's Everton?
Style of play obviously but the overall mood has been completely different as well, far more positive.
Q6: Do you think you'll finish fourth this season?
If Arsenal drop points between now and the end of the season it should be Everton in 4th place.
Q7: Do you think your club will be able to handle the heavy schedule with European football next year, especially with the number of players you brought in on loan this season?
If they manage 4th, I'll be far more confident about Martinez's ability to restock the squad. Europa League money isn't much, and despite what Roberto's said about his war chest it may not work to desired effect if they don't have enough money to do it.
Q8: Which player have you seen the biggest improvement in this season compared to last?
Howard has been much better this season, but Seamus Coleman is a completely different player than he was last season, and he will deserve being placed in the PFA TOTY.
Q9: Which player has surprised you the most with their levels of consistency and performances?
Ross Barkley has turned in plenty of performances that I didn't think he was capable of last season, probably because Moyes didn't give him a long enough leash. He has the chance to be something very special and will be very good for Everton even if he doesn't progress to a level as high as we can dream of.
Q10: Which team would you prefer to win the league out of Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City, and which team out of those do you think will win the league this season?
I'd prefer City or Chelsea but I think Chelsea can beat Liverpool and go on to the title.
Q11: Are there any youth prospects you have that you’re excited about/looking forward to perhaps see breakthrough in the future?
George Green is still a while away but he'll be solid. As for very soon, Conor McAleny, Tyias Browning, and Luke Garbutt could crack the squad in the next 1-3 years.
Q12: What signings do you think/hope your club will make this summer?
If Barry doesn't sign, another defensive midfielder will be needed, and personally, outside of a striker which is an obvious need I'd like to see a poor man's David Silva type player to provide a quality final ball where it's been lacking at times this season.
Q13: What are your goals for the club next season?
A trophy (or trophies) would be nice but I'll settle for top four as well as a bit of a progression to the true Martinez style.
Q14: Which XI would you like to see your team field against us?
Howard, Coleman, Jagielka (or Distin), Stones, Baines, Barry, McCarthy, Barkley, Naismith, Mirallas, and Lukaku.
Q15: Finally, your predictions for the match?
3-1 Everton

just had a look at Red Cafe, man, people are buying into the media hype about loans. "Moyes left a strong squad but not one good enough for 4th place. Without their 3 loan players they'd be below us in the table, Martinez or not." And without SAF they might not have won all those leagues and without Suarez liverpool might not be in with a shot of winning the league and if my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle.
