For those of you who thought that Krasnador away was a tough trip or that the French Police are a worry, spare a thought for Western Sydney Wanderers who play their second leg of the ACL final against Al Hilal in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) at the w/e. Apart from the almost 20 hour journey, no Jewish people or those having an Israeli Passport or visa (the Chairman of WSW is Jewish as is the Chairman of the FFA) are allowed into the country. No woman can attend the game unless accompanied by a male relative.
There are a total of 14 WSW fans going (including 1 single female with her Dad).
The stadium holds 65,000 and a rich Sheikh decided to buy all the tickets and give them out free.
Only problem was that Al Hilal fans are not that happy that other club fans might take some. To which, the (Al Hilal) VP allegedly insulted the parents of every non-Al Hilal fan in the country and suggested that any rival Saudi supporters should be 'beaten up.

Yep, should be a good atmosphere in that stadium.
(BTW, WSW lead 1-0 from the first leg).

I've read in another article that rival Saudi fans hate Al Hilal so much that some were supporting WSW in the first leg and are going to the stadium to support them for the second leg.

Not surprised at all by that. Do Blues support Liverpool in Europe? If Al Hilal are giving away tickets to rent-a-crowd people then tough.

Amazing to think Western Sydney only formed 3 years ago and are now Asian Champions. That must be some kind of record
Yes mate, it is amazing when you look at it like that. But, to be honest, Western Sydney was a success story waiting to happen. It is really the spiritual heartland of football in Australia. The FFA just delayed their entry for so long to give Sydney FC time to get established.
ps - Didn't realise there was a $2m prize as well as entry into World Club Championship.
