Fletch

Player Valuation: £5m
Despite Xavi and Fabregash being injured there is still no place for our Micky in the Spain squad.

This is obviously political or something now, I feel sorry for him, he's the right age and should be in that squad at least IMHO

Spain squad: Iker Casillas (Real Madrid), Victor Valdes (Barcelona), Jose Reina (Liverpool); Alvaro Arbeloa (Real Madrid), Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), Carles Puyol (Barcelona), Gerard Pique (Barcelona), Carlos Marchena (Villarreal), Joan Capdevila (Villarreal), Nacho Monreal (Osasuna); Xabi Alonso (Real Madrid), Sergio Busquets (Barcelona), Santi Cazorla (Villarreal), Andres Iniesta (Barcelona); Pedro Rodriguez (Barcelona), Jesus Navas (Sevilla), David Villa (Barcelona), David Silva (Manchester City), Fernando Llorente (Athletic Bilbao), Fernando Torres (Liverpool).

TBH he's had a [Poor language removed] start to the season, so doesn't really deserve to be in it...

I would agree with that. He hasn't done anything to stand out so far. Unless he impresses in the Derby (when It's likely the Spanish manager will be watching ladyboy) I doubt del Bosque will even make any visits to watch him play.

He hasn't played well enought to get, that's why he didn't get picked..
There are much better players from Spain in that position..

There's not one member of our side that should be called up for anyone right now.

Howard & Mucha will due to lack of competition,
Jags will but won't play seeing as Terry & Rio are fit (ish),
Heitinga & Billy haven't been playing,
Pienaar only because S.A. aren't exactly teeming with talent,
Arteta, Cahill, Yakubu & Fellaini aren't in any sort of form,
Baines probably lost his chance to Cole, Warnock & Gibbs with his home-sickness story prior to the WC.

Sadly, gotta agree with majority. "£75G " has not been exactly keeping Iniesta, Xavi or even the injured Fabregas on their respective toes so far, this season, or any other season lately to be honest. And two of them are injured!!

Arteta is a good player, in our team. But, with the abundance of talent and Del Bosques disposal, he's not gonna get a look in unless the entire midfield is wiped out by a freak yachting accident :)

If Mikel Arteta played for Barca, and Busquets for us, I can guarantee you that Busquets would not be in the squad. In my opinion, he's a pile of crap. Useless going forward, and not even that good as a defensive mid. Arteta, although a slightly different kind of player, is so much better.

He hasn't been playing that well, to be fair, but then even if he was setting the prem alight (as he has in the past) he wouldn't get a look in. We shouldn't be surprised.

Nacho Monreal's name is fantastic, he definitely deserves the call-up

mikky has an average name and is playing very average football at the moment. i guess one could say last season he more than proved himself worthy of being next in line for a callup, but i doubt even he was that disappointed to hear he wasn't getting called up this time.

There's been about 4 or 5 times when Arteta should've had a call up and at least twice were his form demanded it. And before people talk about Xavi and Iniesta, there were crap players like Riera getting in there on LFC default- even though he was playing like crap.

If arteta can't dislodge the INiesta, Xavi, Alonso, Fabregas quartet he could still do a job for them on the wing.

At the moment though, he'd be lucky to get a call up for the Wales National team. Need to see vast improvement.

Luckily we all know he has it in him, in spades.

Can't agree with the comments about Busquets. Think he's superb in the more destructive role behind the playmakers. He's like Makelele when he was at Real Madrid. Most people didn't realise how good he was till he was gone.

Agree with the consensus about Arteta
