Arteta and Cahill

Love this bit:

Arteta: I will join you in Australia. No, seriously, I always said that I would love to play in Spain for a few years, but it would be very hard for me to leave England. It’s not the best weather, but there are great things here as well. I love the football, the passion, I love my team-mates — apart from you, of course!

Cahill: You wouldn’t know what to do without me!

Mikel....the joker!:lol::lol:

good interveiw and good to see how strong the unity is between the players. the other story on this page on how the atmosphere is changing at the derby is good also,(y) c.o.y.b

You see, I like that sort of stuff. Its like the Uefa game on ITV with the interview with Cahill and Arteta - they look best of mates, and it the players are all like that in training etc there's no surprise that we're the most hard-working, well oiled team in the premiership compared to others with greater resources.

You dont see the [Poor language removed] over the road doing interviews like that.

Arteta on Moyes:

"Compared to four years ago, tactically he has improved, in terms of how he sees things and how he sets things up."

Says a lot when a player makes a comment like that.

Moyes has said things like that himself. He's started to listen to players rather than dictating his way all the time -- Irvine said he's gone "soft" (jokingly of course).

I agree that he's changed in the way he approaches the squad - by all accounts anyway - and it's good to hear he has their respect. But I'm not sure I agree with Arteta's conclusion that he's become more tactically astute. I see a man who has got a squad working hard for each other in a solid 4-5-1 formation and getting results from that - the same as we had in season one essentially. I'm not sure I see the evolution in Moyes' use of tactics. He's still woefully inadequate in reacting to change in games (as his baffling substitutions/non-substitutions underline). Having Arteta and Pienaar switch wings on occasion is about the only thing I can think of he does to mix it up. Maybe it's just me and I'm not seeing what this tactical improvement is.

The Premiership is based heavily on tactics, so the fact that we are riding high every season surely means hes getting his tactics right? Get off his back and come back when you have even come close to matching his talent.
