Not so long ago everyone was talking about this guy and how we were supposed to be after him. There is no doubt (imo) that he would be a fantastic aquisition for us, but of late I've not heard anything linking him to us or anyone for that matter. I really hope we go for him as he would be a revelation in the PL. Just a thought...but, if we are prepared to pay £5mil for an unproven teenager, maybe, just maybe,DM's transfer kitty is a little more than was first thought and if so, the likes of Arshavin etc could and should be realistic targets.

Well, the Russian Minster of Sport came out and said he was on 40-50k a week and was happy in the Zenit team. Add in the fact that Barca are said to be interested as well. Either way, I think while he would be great, we need a brilliant DM first.

I reckon now the money is flying about at the citeh, I wouldnt be surprised to see him there..they can accomodate his wage bill and then some..

From what i've read his wages are not that high, they are around 3million euros a year, that works out at around £45k per week, so it doesnt seem like his wages will be a major problem. I really think we will get him, especially if man city opt for ronaldinho and jo.

Bugger me, if thats true then we are well and truly skuppered. I really think Arshavin should be our top transfer target but if he is on or around 45k a week at zenit, and he did move to the EPL then yeah i spose he will want a pay rise considering how much money is in the league. So yeah you are probably right and we wont be able to afford him. Awww im sad now

I hope so but the more i think about it now, the more unlikely it seems we will sign him. Oh well, nothing we can do but wait and see.

the real problem is, if he has a good tournament, his price is going to inflate wildly. So if anything moyes should attempt it now. But the problem is moyes hasnt signed his contract, just how much that has to do with anything i dont know, but it seems odd, that the only official thing to come out of their mouths is the ramsey statement..which to me sounds more like smoke and mirrors.
