Arsenal penalties

Remember when that utter beaut Wenger stitched us up for pens with Johnson. Be nice for Moyes to return the favour any time soon.

Remember when we went a whole season without getting a penalty for us to get one on the final day against Newcastle and Yak slotted his 21st goal of the season.

It depends on the refs. And it would appear in Arsenal's case, the linesmen too.
Fact is, while their pen awarded vs Norwich was fair, it was so so soft in light of other offenses during the game, not to mention in other games (like Kompany on Torres).
Either both teams get awarded the soft pens, or none.
Don't want another Fellaini on Dzeko soft incident ruining tomorrow's game.

There's no such thing as soft penalty. Its either a foul or not. A foul on the penalty box is a penalty. No point in saying that team didnt get a penalty and this team got one. If we gonna go that route. Norwich goal came from a free kick that was never a free kick. Their player tripped on his trailing leg. And we should have had a penalty earlier with Walcott getting fouled anyway.

Also if you defend deep all game and invite pressure on you and the other team is throwing everyone at you. Then you will end up giving up situations like that end of the game

think the argument is that if the Arsenal penalty on Saturday and say the Man city one at Maine road or whatever its called now, are penalties then Fellaini alone should get one or two a game. Its all in the language you hear from commentators.. certain teams have players who go down too easily, in another teams shirt the same incident is 'cleverly winning a penalty' or the amazing statement I have heard repeatedly that someone was entitled to go down. I used to follow the rightresult.com when they analysed these situations in a very strict manner and now another site doing similar. very few teams change position but regularly a non fashionable side battling for a European spot will find a lot of key decisions go against them. This season they have a twelve point swing between Everton and Arsenal/Spurs

Ill give you that the foul for there goal was never a foul but neither was your pen or the Walcott one also theres a massive difference between a freekick and a pen. it was your own awful defending that lead to them scoring. A penalty is pretty much just giving you a goal and the linesman giving it from the moon through 15 odd players you telling me that's not a dodgey pen?

I just reckon that when you got that pen the momentum and attitude off both sets of teams was changed which got you back into it simply put I think if you hadn't of gotten that penalty you would of lossed that game. Like a few others you have gotten away with this season.

TBH mate I don't mean this to come across as me being a tit cos I know you're sound and post a bit on here. But, over the years your teams had some bad snides and some cheating diving knuts in with that too. I'd throw see no evil, hear no evil Wenger in with that too.

There is such a thing as soft pens when refs give them because they'd get 9 arsenal players crying for it and get worn down by it and feel obliged. Then you've got players 'waiting for contact', 'feeling a push' and other ****e commentators use to excuse cheating and nobody does that better than Arsenal IMO.

I can say these things because we BOO cheats at our place regardless of what kit they wear.
