Arise

Can’t stand lying in bed at a weekend, feels like I’m wasting it.

Been out playing golf this summer early, teeing off around 6 some mornings.

Supposed to be playing at 8 today but bit windy out there.

As I’ve got older I need less sleep.

Surely if wake up 3 times sleep is crap?

All that crap about sleep cycles and stuff you must be interupting yours

I have FitBit so can check and it’s usually a decent amount of REM sleep. I’m a really light sleeper though so wake up to anything.

Retired.

So obviously I wake up at 6.10 practically every day, having spent 30 years of work rising at 7.30. I do a worldle and get up almost straight away and watch youtube over brekkie until I FEEL like doing something .... normally 9am. Then I'm like a whirlwind until elevenses coffee time. With skill and decent eadable activity on GOT elevenses can be stretched to, near enough, noon, when there's no point going back to whatever it is I was doing before lunch.

RE nighttime peeing for fellow becoming-oldies - I went through a phase of this. Learn to completely empty your bladder before bed. For me this means peeing til empty. Waiting a few minutes and peeing again ... a surprising extra amount comes out. Sometimes do it a 3rd time.

05:45 - 06:30 depending on what time our toddler decides it’s time to f around.
Coincides (more or less) with time to get up for work anyway but do miss a lie in at the weekend.
Seem to have developed a weekend routine where I get up with him at the weekends and she stays in bed 😡

I'm more or less the same. I tend to go to bed quite early. Then I usually wake up between 5 and 6am, sometimes as early as 4. I too am completely unable to have a lie-in and if I was able to stay in bed until 9am on a weekend, that would be a rare success for me
Serious question. Why go to bed early and then moan about being unable to have a lie in?
Chances are that if you go to bed a couple of hours later than normal you will also wake a couple of hours later.
I usually sleep for about 6 hours, therefore I go to bed about 6 hours before I intend getting up. (usually about 1AM - 7AM)

It wasn't a moan, just that a late lie-in is rare and I wouldn't mind getting a few extra hours at the weekend. But I am perfectly happy in my (sort of) routine

I wake up around 3.30 am every night, sometimes I can be lucky and drop off again but very rarily as I have to be up for 6 to get ready for work, I've averaged around 3 and 6 hours sleep for years, could manage when I was younger but now I'm knackered by dinner time 😔

I would also add I don’t go to sleep till gone midnight every day too so I’m not even going too early. I must just not function properly on more than 5-6 hours.
