Are we too nice?

I'm still confused how a BLATANT two footed lunge can be just a yellow. By the letter of the rules, it's a straight red all day. The fact it's not something that is reviewed makes no sense either. Just because Oliver saw it and deemed it a yellow shouldn't mean thats the end of it. In the NHL a few can penalize a player and then the league goes back and hits them with a stiffer punishment if they see fit. Rojo should be banned 3 matches, end of.

If we were better at football we wouldn't need to be better at cheating to win. Getting a red card for the opposition shouldn't be the requirement to achieve a positive result.

Chelsea and co may cheat a lot, but if they don't get the calls from the ref, they can still win games.

Retrospective bans/cards for cheating, and red card fouls missed by the ref for me..
The elbows and headbutts that go unnoticed, therefore unpunished.. The two footed challenges... the diving etc
Perhaps even have a panel of three PL reps going through the footage during the game with punishment taking place while the game is still active.. A red card 5 minutes late is still better than none at all.

Finally I think the PL should be able to escalate a ref's yellow to a red after the game.
Make everyone better instead of making us worse.

Sorry mate, but this is ridiculous. A panel going through incidents mid game, and sending players off late?

You're talking about completely sterilising the game.

It's a sport of human error and drama. Referee mistakes, bad tackles, aggresive acts are all part and parcel of the game we love. Lets not lose our heads just because we were on the wrong end of one.

Though I do agree about being able to upgrade yellows to reds retrospectively. Thats a daft rule.

More of this please

Only where cheating and dangerous play is involved, neither of which are necessary and you would not even notice these guys doing their thing. Play would continue, then when the next stop in play happens, the player gets yellow carded or taken out of the game for elbowing someone in the face a few minutes back. Wouldn't sterilise anything imo, would just stop the BS that has become integrated in the game.

People lately seem to think that football is second to all the drama that never used to exist in football. If you are having debates about whether your team don't cheat enough then I think its hard to make a sport worse by any means of punishing it.
