Thanks for that input mate. Valuable as always.

Anyone feel a Euro Super Rich breakaway league coming on in the future?
I see the premier league is like formula one racing,in the main it just to predictable, you can more or less predict the final league table, with one or two exceptions like Southampton this season and the position we are in.Money has ruined it and that has had the knock on effect that players think they'd are bigger than the clubs, managers and refs,I've lots count of how many times the big teams try to and succeed at times in bullying the refs to make decisions. For example Barry who deserved to get a second yellow, but what Ivanovic did was far worse and it probably cost us a good point.

Ok before I start I know we haven't won the league recently. It took Atletico a miracle to win, and probably won't happen again for the next decade. But are we the Premier League's Atletico Madrid? We play our guts out (or are starting to again) . We suffered for long against our rivals and are overshadowed by them ( hopefully like Atletico we'll end that losing streak in spectacular fashion like they are). We don't have as much money as other teams- but certainly aren't poor. We have a great Manager and a talented squad.

So can we pull off the Atletico? The miracle? Maybe. I hope we can soon. Martinez- read this!
No

Somebody asks a question and everybody jumps on the guys back, koff you gang of tools.

I see what you are getting at but i think the way Atletico are behind Real could be applied to virtually any club in the world, if you believe Real are truly the biggest club in the world.

Liverpool in my lifetime have and always will be perceived as the bigger club by the media, they can spend their way out of trouble and never really worry about losing their fanbase. They are similair to Real in that respect.

Everton and Atletico rely on the opposite, a smaller tighter fanbase, academy and cheap deals, always seen as the underdogs in the big boys shadows.

Spurs or Arsenal even could argue they are. Not us though.

I get the comparison to an extent but it's just not true with Martinez as your manager based on his character and teams style of football.

Also Simeone was always a huge icon for Atleti fans, maybe if you had Duncan Ferguson as your manager and he was successful would this comparison work.
