Interesting one really, but are we really absolutely skint? As in, there wouldn't even be about £5m available for the right player?

I mean, Moyes said he wants to bring 5 or 6 players in during the summer, didn't he?

"Ah yeah, but we signed Fellaini" I hear you say.

Yes we did, but we paid £5m upfront and sold Faddy and Johnson...

So surely there must be a few quid?. Dont turn this into a Kenwright bashing thread, cant be bothered with another one of them threads. Its just a guess/assumption.

It will be interesting to see if we do spend a few million in the next few weeks, I wont be completely surprised if we do.

I will.

Moyes has said 'defo', 'defo not', 'def' a number of times.

We always think Kenwright may have a suprise but he's not rich enough for that, sadly.

Whoever we sign, i will love them.

I think we are skint to be honest. I think the plan might be that any players signed now, will be from next years budget. Hence, the idea of loan signings make sense. Gives Moyes a chance to test drive them first.

Well after revealing record profits for last year in the Chelsea prog, then in the following Sunderland prog, T round predicting none of it will be forthcoming to the team - it looks like WE ARE skint and any money that is being made is going outside the club - though where and what on, god only knows ??

Welcome mate.

If you post a bit, theres every chance you'll get drawn into the hysteria and start expecting a big signing or two!

Its all a bit weird- I understand that finance has tighten up due to the global economy bit the disappearing, reappearing cash is odd. Didnt we bid £5m for Stephen Hunt on deadline day?! Where the funk has that money gone?!!!

I think we have some money, but we are trying to get players in on loan, i mean we must have money lined up if the loans pay off, because im sure Bill knows we wont accept the fact he spent all our money in January. Its just common sense to say we have no money, then we can try get somebody in wages only, if they play ok we buy them. Risky i know, because most clubs want cash, but hardly any sales are done these days cash upfront, most deals are staggered payments.

But it is strange the way money comes and goes. I just dont know why we havent got Proggydude in on loan, his club have declared hes available on loan. So why he isnt he at Finch Farm already? Surely Moyes knows the lads got class. Dithering Dave strikes again.

Just because you want him, doesn't mean Moyes does ffs.

Strictly speaking, being £70m or so in debt, unless we've got £71m, we haven't got any money. Realistically, we have cash that we can avoid paying to our creditors. So I suppose when money disappears, it disappears to servicing our debt or simply to running the club; that is, players wages and stuff like that. Plus, even if we loan players, that will be costly. Other than their wages, there is the loan fee to settle as well as the assorted legal [Poor language removed] that come with such a transaction.

Just treading water in the PL is an expensive affair.
