Are we in a relegation battle right now?

Are we relegationally challenged?

  • No, too early in season, over 38 games there will be at least 3 crapper teams

If we lose the West Brom game I will feel uncomfortable again. We have had a tough run of fixtures. What disappointed me was the lack of ambition shown in those 2 very winnable away games against WBA and Bournemouth. I believe that killed the small amount of momentum we built.

Previous flirtations with relegation came through the obvious rubbish managers and teams and the serious lack of acknowledgement earlier on of how realistic the situation was. Mike Walker said something along the lines of "what crisis?" and refused to accept we were in the doo doo.
We need to get this sorted now and not wait for the last chance saloon again. I dread another final day situation.!

Yes, but if we don’t get rid of most of this squad we’ll be even further into one next season.

The following players should be nowhere near this club next season:

Jagielka
Baines
Williams
Rooney
Martina
Schneiderlin
McCarthy
Besic
Lennon
Niassé

It’s actually quite scary.

Sigurdsson is a glaring omission here.

Add Stekelenburg, Pennington, Klaassen, Sandro, keane, tarashaj

He’s been one of the better players. Have you seen the state of this squad? He’s nowhere near our biggest concern.

I simply don’t seem to watch the same games as you, Blue. There’s little or no industry from this guy at all. A decent player would try something to turn things around (use their ability) to make their mark on a game, even if not in their favoured position. I see him moaning at plenty of our players - might simply frustration with his own dire performances - but he needs to question his own contribution.

I also don’t get the stick Rooney gets either; at times he’s a lone figure trying to turn things round for us. If not trying to score, he’s laying off slide rule passes, and more to the point, doing some Barryesque tackling for the cause (he makes his mark on the game and diesn’t get bullied).

And while we’re on Rooney, I recall he suffered a viral infection prior to Xmas which kept him out of a couple of games. Having suffered a similar ailment that knocked me flat over the Xmas period, I know how tough it must have been to return after a couple of games’ layoff, and I’ll wager he’s still feelin the effects.

Real hardman and talent in my book.

Sig: watch and learn, preferably from the bench.

Disagree with everything you’ve said. Rooney is atrocious and loses the ball 9 timed out of 10 and then gets poked because he can’t keep up with play.

Fine. Then we’llhave to agree to disagree.

I’ll keep watching Everton and you those YouTube videos of sig in his spuds/Swansea days.

I honestly can't believe we're 9th, there must be some shocking teams in this prem
Seven points I think off 18th position.
We need to get past the 30 point mark in quick time. There are a couple of teams beneath us getting up a head of steam, so that seven point buffer could soon disappear. Starting against WBA we ought/need three points just to dampen down that threat. Then three home wins before the end of the season should do it because you just can't contemplate us winning away.
