Are there too many London clubs?

Live and let live, that's my motto. Why should any club be forced to merge with another club? Every club has its own identity where their supporters associate with. I'm sure they'd rather go tits up than sell their soul to a merging monstrosity.

Had so many merger plans with regards to my home town club over here. Luckily we've always been able to fight those ridiculous plans off.

Some clubs get grouped into London when they shouldn't be as well

I mean, is Charlton even London?

Loads of team in Greater Manchester too. Man United, Man City, Stockport Sports, Bury, Stockport County, Altrincham, Staylbridge, Salford City, Wigan, Oldham etc

At least football is a Northern game though

London is virtually an independent country, a corrupt decadent bauble. We should attack it forthwith and divvy up the monies, crown jewels and burn City traders while enslaving the good looking women for hard nobbing.

As northern monkeys who originate from viking raiders the reintroduction of Danelaw while getting pally with the rebellious scots (for the oil) would nail the southern holes. Re-open the gold mines in wales and we're laughing.

Remove footy from their passionless enclave to recompense the years of spivery that chokes this country.

(also because they say "guv", "manor", "barnet" etc)

I like the trip to London, but the big clubs like Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal and West Ham are all fine by me, it's the proper turd teams like Charlton who take like 140 to an away game i don't like.

I also don't mind Palace, and that's not in London ;)

Just get rid of London, sorts more problems than just Footy.

They do us a slight favour to be honest. Neutral fans are always astonished at how normal we are compared to them.

As a poster on an opposition forum said : "they come from the same city and speak with same accent, but how come Liverpool fans and Everton fans are SO different?"

So long as Palace stay in existence then London is alright..;) I can't believe that a club like them has never won a major trophy.

To put it into perspective, Palace are the only club in the borough of Bromley (I think). Bromley has roughly 300,000 people in it, which is more than Derby, Blackpool, Milton Keynes, Luton, Plymouth, and only a shade smaller than Sunderland.

It's rare for there to be more than a couple of clubs per borough, although there are three in Kensington & Chelsea, which has a population of just 150,000
