We'd definitely make the "Championship" European super-league based upon our finishes in the last 10 seasons. Just shows that we could really make a jump with a couple of ins over the summer to compliment Jelavic, Fellaini, Baines and Heitinga

Rangers & Celtic both bigger clubs than Everton worldwide.
They were European powerhouses but would now be midtable EPL, in supporters, history and pulling power would be bigger clubs than Everton.
Glasgow Rangers are practically bust and still have 4-5 bidders looking to invest, Everton have the chance to prosper but no one wants to invest.

Probably incorrect, our financial plight is based on a reluctance to sell at a reasonable price.

But before this becomes a Kenwrong thread....

We're still big, a lot of people around the world remember us from the 80's, the younger generations won't of course, but in New Zealand we're treated with respect for our history and have a honorable reputation.

That's a pretty good selection imo. Would drop a couple teams from it myself, Man C, Mars, maybe Nap, just so certain leagues didn't have too many teams.

Yeah, completely forgot Scottish teams before. Celtic should defo be in there. Obviously neither of them are particularly strong nowadays, but on size/fanbase/past Euro pedigree they have to be considered imo.

I don't think it matters one bit whether as a fan you view Everton as a big club.

It only matters whether players view Everton as a big club.

They're the ones who make a decision on whether to sign for Everton or someone else based on factors including the size of the club.

So take in mid player age of 25. So he was born in 1987, he would have seen us win the Cup when he was 8, and seen us reach play in Wembley and Europe a few times. We probably are judged as an also ran club established in the top half of the biggest league in football. Playing to a 35,000 crowd in a 40,000 stadium, again also comfortably top 10 stuff.

In terms of big players he'll have kept an eye out for as a neutral? hmm, maybe a few, maybe not a few, I dont know.

Will he care what our past honours were and history was before he was born? No way. They're just words in a book to him on page 37 of his encyclopaedia, he'll have been too busy looking at the shiny pictures.
