So, not having a new stadium is NOT the reason we haven't been bought yet? Fancy that. Not to rub salt, but the Arab investor said he's willing to build them a new ground and training facilities…..
I mean who in their right mind would buy Portsmouth ahead of Everton ?
I know he's an arab and knows fcuk all about the game, but fcuk me, he must be one thick ****.
This tells me that Everton is NOT for sale.
But also I think there are people that can do what Kenwright wants ie leave him as chairman and pump cash into the club. The thing is…non of the shareholders are selling so no investor can buy a huge stake in the club.
Look at Sunderland. Quinn is still chairman and the big boss man of the club but they had an American business tycoon as a large shareholder pumping money into it. He upped his stake and bought out the club. Arsenal have a similar situation over there.
So its not just Kenwright willing or not willing to give up his shares….all the big shareholders in the club aint moving an inch either.
Quinn is more of a figurehead really, hes Chairman only in name, I doubt he has any controlling interest in the Club, I dont know for sure, but I think hes just a mouth piece and go between, I could be wrong.
So any profit in the long term wouldnt benefit him.
But I hear what your saying, Kenwright gets the most stick, buts thats because he is so cringeworthy and tells constant lies.
Yes in an ideal world the other board memebers would be the 1s that left, but they are greedy people, who have no interest in the Club, just about making money.
I see Bill as somebody who is conflicted, on 1 hand he sees all the lovely money he could make and on the other he wants to see Everton as a force again. It would appear the other people on the board only care about the money.
How much is the guy actually going to invest? From where I'm standing, there is a big difference between Everton and Portsmouth, and the expectations of both sets of fans. You give Pompey a pretty, tin shed shed and they'll lap it up. Not us, we want more. Maybe Bill has fended off some of those that are looking at minimum investment, and maximum return.
