To answer properly.

What type of books? If they are from apple store they are probably .epub format and may need converting

Music? Not sure never had any music from iTunes as it's a death mess to use.

Yeah, the books are from the Apple store and the music is off iTunes.

I was told that there's an app that you can download for transferring it all bit I can't find any

Could be a real pain in the arse depending how many songs you've got in apple format that are protected. One way to move them would be to burn them as audio CDs then rip them back as an unprotected format. Can't help with books as I don't do reading unless it's a manual.

Rub your new phone in saw dust and put it in the oven for 20 mins on gas mark 5, Remove and sprinkle on some salt

Or you just download an epub reader.........

Eg Aldiko. This has always served me well (dont know if it is still the best or has been surpassed)

I highly recommend FB reader for epub books - integrates well with Calibre (which can sort and download info on books) and the Text To Speech software is good to convert books to audio.
