In what may be the most compulsory internship experience you’ve
ever heard of, the Shanghai Daily is reporting that thousands of Chinese
students from schools neighboring a Foxconn factory in the city of
Huai'an were forced to help fulfill iPhone 5 orders.

According to the paper, students were taken by bus to the plant, and started
working on the production line last Thursday after the Taiwanese-owned
company was badly in need of extra hands to keep up with assembly of the
hotly anticipated new version of Apple’s iPhone line.

Teachers from nearby schools confirmed via a radio report that classes had been
interrupted, as these internships would fulfill their pupils' need to
"experience working conditions." The student workers received the
equivalent of $243.97 per month as compensation for working six days a
week, and clocking in 12 hours per day.

Unacceptable conditions, but I wouldn't necessarily say 'slave labor.'

No doubt people will still buy their precious iPhones though.

To quote Flight of the Conchords...

"They're turning kids into slaves just to make cheaper sneakers
But what's the real cost '€~cause the sneakers don't seem that much cheaper
Why are we still paying so much for sneakers when you got little kid slaves making them
What are your overheads?"

Why is the Apple Mac I want still billions of pounds FFS

Anyway...The iPhone 5 meant to be any good then?

The funniest Apple news in the wake of the iPhone 5 launch is that the sheeple will be forced to pay an extra £25 for the ugliest adaptor imaginable to get any of their current accessories to work on it ^^

Funny stuff. Not sure why anyone wouldn't just buy a Samsung Galaxy or one of the myriad of cheaper & arguably much better Android phones on the market.

Or, if you're an existing iPhone user, why you'd "upgrade" is beyond my understanding as there's no discernible difference between this and an iPhone 4. But then, it's a fashion accessory for idiots these days.

I've got an iphone, a blackberry curve and a Samsung G600 which is about 5 years old. The blackberry is virtually unusable for calls as it sounds like somebody filled it with iron fillings that vibrate when your trying to listen to the other person, the iphone has locked itself but according to the apple shop it's a mystery problem thats unfixable, the Samsung has been dropped off a 4 storey scaffold, dropped down the toilet three time, has a drill hole in the back of it, has been ran over by a bus and works spot on every time. Be arsed with these smart phones!

The Apple iPhone 5 looks a lot like the iPhone 4S but it's thinner, by 18 per cent, and lighter, by 20 per cent. The screen is taller too, at 4-inches corner to corner, but the phone, held in portrait mode, is the same width. Instead of a glass back, the iPhone 5 back and sides are made from a single piece of aluminium.

Same phone but a tiny bit thinner and a tiny bit lighter

HERES MY £500 FFS

I love my iphone, nothing to do with fashion, ill be getting the new one as soon as i can,

just like GOT was my 1st forum i come on and ive stuck with it

Like paddypower was my 1st betting app and ive stuck with them,

It's your money mate but i can't help but think your essentially getting mugged by apple, ive looked at both phones and the only difference is the new ones a bit lighter and works faster and it's not like it's cheap to upgrade is it?
