Now that we have a decent first 11, at least 2 respected pundits tipping us for top 4 would you not rather just be rubbish again?

The feeling after being beaten by Reading after a gash 2nd half was horrible and may not wane until Weds-Thurs until we start to look forward to getting back to the Old Lady for those tools from the East.

Past couple of seasons a defeat of this nature made (well me anyway) shrug my shoulders, give the old "we are Everton after all" and it's dealt with within a few hours. Now expectations are higher so the defeats/draws are harder.

I think I am answering my own question is so much as, I think I would rather take the rough with the smooth, but FFS Everton. Really?

If you want to go back to how we were, just look a bit further back.

We should be devastated to get beat by Reading and we should have ambitions to play in the Champions League with the size of our home and away support and quality in the current squad, hope that clears things up. Yesterday was a big blow and no mistake, but its a sign of our development since last season how gutted we all are.

"rather be shyte again"!!!!!!...........

mate, football is a competition a sporting contest being shyte can never be positive.

It's like saying there's real benefits in being in a coma with the free meals and time off work - too surreal my friend.

Norwich can't come soon enough...we need to get back on the horse and smash someone, immediately. Yeseterday wound me up to no end and I wasn't playing, so I can imagine how f'ed off the players are (or should be, at least).

As much as we want to win every game,we wont and its so annoying as we know,we will have the odd defeat in games we are expected to win,and win games some say we will lose etc,it was only our 2nd defeat since mid march in the league, think of the times when we lost 2 in a week, its football

I like the saying of Espn's Ian Darke
Everton remind me of a high class chaser at Cheltenham - top form but likely to mess up the odd fence ( as at Reading).
