I try not to get wound up by it, but it gets me every time. Know a lot of Chelsea fans and they're despicable.

Devils advocate here mate, Cole is a better lb in the style of team that Mourinho adopts in the bigger games - especially away from home, simply put defensively when sitting back looking for a quick counter that doesn't tend to involve the fullbacks he is a better option than Baines.

Attacking wise in a none defensively set up team Baines is a way above him ofc.

Strangely as it turns out though Oviedo club wise could be set to have a period of time like Baines did at International level, stuck behind a player that's hard to budge despite having the talent to start and potential to exceed the incumbent

Its not just them mate. Seems to be evertyone BUT Everton fans ( and Mourinho & Woy )

Cole's the safer, more guaranteed, and more defensive option mate, it's why two effectively defensive orientated managers have preferred him, plus always hard to dislodge an incumbent who is actually a very good player himself, a braver manager would have done the switch at least a year earlier mind

Aye, fair enough. My annoyance was in regard to their blaise dismissal of Baines - I went to school with lots of Chelsea fans.

We'll see if Hodgson will use Baines effectively.

Anyone who would sign Konchesky to play for the rs i severely doubt the judgement off on fullbacks mate so I wouldn't hold much hope, think this world cup is just another long line of wasted chances due to a manager having no balls to actually do something different

Baines has had a good season.

He has been asked to play a different role. Do you think Coleman would have had as good a season if we were still doing the ol' Moyes trick of "lads, pass to it Baines. Baines pass it to Pienaar. Pieenar pass it to Baines. Baines cross it to no one. Repeat" ???

We have improved as a side and are now not reliant on any one player. Every area of the team contributes and so Baines' attacking influence has been lessened. But his defensive contribution has been great and he's still bagged 5 goals and 5 assists on top of that.

come back at a starting price of 25 mill and we will think about it and then say thanks but no thanks, he will be even more important for us next season a must keep at all costs.

It's helps to make a statement with him not being sold. I think Roberto wasn't too fussed about Felli, and the money was generous to a fault, but he wanted Leighton and he kept him. We sell when we want.......
