Anyone else miss playing in Europe?

I used to hate trudging home in the soaking rain and freezing cold after playing some no Mark team from the back end of Russia in the middle of winter and the early kick offs on a Sunday were utterly depressing some weeks but I would happily go through that turmoil to have European nights at Goodison. It's a great atmosphere and the Europa League is a challenging competition and one we should be competing in year in year out. Playing in that competition should be seen as an achievement rather than a burden. With it being European week, just wanted to reminisce about days gone by.

Fiorentina anyone? Wolfsburg? Young Boys?

My problem is, we’re always going to finish 7th, so therefore to even get into Europe now, we’d have to play 6 games.

Look at Burnley, their run this year consisted of Aberdeen, Basaksehir and Olympiakos.
That isn’t easy.

I love Europe, but I know we need a bigger stronger squad because they’ve saturated the Europa pool so badly, we’d have to have so many games.

Fingers crossed we sneak in and sign more quality this year.

But please, PLEASE, not like last season.

Bad enough West Ham beating us at home never mind forking out £500 odd to see it happen in Macedonia or the like.

I'll miss when we have a team worthy of playing in it and having a serious chance of winning it.

Well, we're not always going to finish 7th or below, we will start improving soon enough. The calibre of player we bought this summer was step up than any other time in the prem.

We'll be back in Europe next season.

I definitely miss playing in Europe but tbh what i miss even more than that is actually enjoying watching Everton every single week. Haven't really enjoyed them consistently since the 2013/14 campaign. Since then they have been predominately disappointing and frustrating. Fingers crossed that will change when Silva has had the time he needs to turn things around.
