Any interesting facts or thoughts for the last Goodison goodbye?

In over 40 years of me watching Everton at Goodison Park only 4 of them 40 odd years have i seen us lift a trophy.

Its time to go.

I've been to 6 games, and never seen anything other than a win.. that said, whenever I did travel over I picked games against the weaker teams in the league that i felt we would have a good chance of beating, arsed paying for flights, hotel, food, some merchandise, program, beers taxies/busses around town and from and to the airport, parking fees in Dublin airport and match tickets along with 2 days of my time just to see us lose.

Although an eyesore near the end ,the park end should've been replaced with a double decker stand, meaning we were still one of the few stadiums with double decks on four sides.

When I started going over I had the same line of thinking. over a two year spell, got to about 10 games against the likes of Wimbledon, Southampton and Charlton, and never saw a win in that spell.

Nothing other than how much I will miss the place. Happy that we're leaving with Moyes and TFG as the owners rather than Dyche/Lampard and Moshiri. Does finally feel like the days of fan protests, games without goals, relegation battles, and misery are behind us and just in time so they don't overshadow the goodbye.

Could be all kinds of Everton trivia questions for the years to come from this, who took the last corner/free kick/penalty(😉🤣),who scored the last goal,or had the last competitive touch of the ball at Goodison,,so many more I'm sure,oh who shed the last tear, well I'll be in the running along with a good few thousand others I'm sure😢

Its weird as I have been building up to this since last season and really don't want to go and part of me never wants to leave de to my own personal connection and memories, but i just want it over with now. The club is such a let down

I will be interested to see going forward how not just mine but others interest remains post the first few seasons if things don't go well (especially older Evertonians) who are used to Goodison and its part of their life, The match day experience is going to change as will the type of fan we may attract being in the city centre and regular fans own travel, costs and routine will change with that.

The one fact surprised me was a ladies football match in the 1920s Liverpool Ladies v St Helens Ladies had a crowd of 11,000 & the FA stood in & were alarmed by such a turn out of supporters at Goodison & the womens game only got going again until 1970 semi pro as that too .....
