I would hope we maybe sign 2 CB this summer if heitinga goes. If signing alcaraz for free allows Duffy to go out on loan for a year then I think it's a good signing. But would still IMO need another quality CB signing. Either a replacement for distin, with him becoming a squad player or an eventual distin replacement which I don't see Duffy being if I'm honest.

Still would like lescott back. The only downside is his age, but defenders do go on a couple of years longer at a high level. Feel we need a young 25 yr old coming in if I'm honest, but at the same time wouldn't want to be passing up on lescott at the reported 4M or so he'd likely cost. Could have 3 of England's back line, starting for us next season.

The four players we got rid of, the wages we saved there will no doubt pay off the banks. BK said most of Arteta money paid the bank off. Therefore any sales we make will be our budget.

The fact of the matter is, you tried to make up some daft story about us not being able to afford Alcaraz wages even though, as I pointed out we have just got 100k per week off the books. You then come back with some waffle about Arteta!?

yeh but I havnt forgotten arteta. it disappeared that money right on deadline day and was never re invested.

So you HONESTLY think that we cannot afford the wages of a 3rd choice CB who is available on a free having got 4 players off our books and having talked about making 3-4 signing while not selling anyone....?

We don't need to pay the bank any extra..we're up to date with the payments. But then...you have an agenda.......

Quite possible that the club wanted to appoint the backroom staff etc before announcing any signings? Of course in all likelihood we won't sign anyone until Aug 31st!
