That's not true. He signed one until 2025 a year or so ago. The club are in negotiations with his agant so hopefully the wages can get bumped to where they should be for Gordon vis-a-vis the utter tripe *earning* a fortune that he plays alongside.

Here’s the problem though: we reject 50m and try to offer a new contract his agent rightly says “OK, you’ve just said he’s a 60m player, pay him as such”, and 60m players get paid a fortune. So then we have not only missed out on 50m we’ll have added millions to our wage bill. And then if his form dips or he doesn’t develop we won’t be able to get anything for him because no club will match the wages of a 60m player for a 20m player.

And if we don’t offer him that level of contract he becomes unhappy, agitates for a move and his value starts to drop.

If you’re going to reject 50m for him and as a result have to pay him that level of wage you have to be damn sure he’s that level of player.

With respect any hack can write a list. Not many people would be happy to commit tens of millions of pounds those opinions though. That gives you the better indication of who is, or isnt rated in football.

Here's the thing, we don't know if Moshiri is bankrolling anymore or not. Until we see him doing it we won't know.

But baffling is if we sell him for 45/50m people acting like this season we will suddenly she'll out 150m because we won't have to pay the fees all up front, those fees still end up being paid if not this then next and the one after seasons which just causes yet another problem.

If we sell him we aren't gonna be bringing in multiple 30-35m players all of a sudden, we will just be able to finance the likes of Adams, Muapay, Garner and similar levels.

Frankly at this point he does have to be sold. Cannot see him playing for us again. I am not too unhappy at the prospect as long as we get big cash or big players in exchange. Would take Batshuayi and or Dross Sparkley on a free certainly as a seperate piece of business . I'd swerve Broja as his value is way overstated right now (just like AG). Gilmour is the obvious part exchange. We need a striker and midfielders - we have a surfeit of wide talent.

So it's as true as any of the twitter posts about us rejecting offers that you believe without question.

Here's the funny thing a 19yo Ronaldo - Gordon was 20 last season, played 29 times for united his first season there and scored 4 goals and was labelled as going down too easy and a diver with no end product just tricks.

No, because Everton have made public comments to the effect that the player is not available. Ergo: Chelsea should desist, and if they dont the league should step in.

Everton got done by Watford over Silva for this sort of thing.
